Open the next email automatically after deleting or moving the first one
When I delete a message I want to go directly to the next email, instead of going to the inbox and then click the next email.
This feature is a simple one, but when you have to read a lot of emails it saves a lot of time.
It is available both in Gmail and Yahoo.
Thank you for your attention.
Work on this feature has started, beginning with iOS availability.

From Reddit and questions from Protonmail:
1. Would you want this to only happen in the Inbox folder?
No all boxes, compare with gmail. Inbox is most important though.2. When your Inbox has a list of messages with mixed read/unread status, would you expect to be automatically taken to the next message irrespective or read or unread status, or only to the next unread message? Could you share the reason behind your choice?
Haven´t thought about this but why not irrespective of read status? Preferably this could be a personal setting for every user.3. Which platform would you like to see this implemented on? Web, mobile? Both?
Both. More important on comp but nowadays most people uses mobile devices so I think both unit types is important.4. If you'd like to see this on mobile as well, why not use the swipe action to quickly delete or archive emails? Is there something about that action that you find difficult?
No. That feature is splended but we would like protonmail to show next message after delete/archive or, for that matter, just swiping to next message.
Please implement this. Is has gone several years without any action

Basic UX oversight. Needs to move to the next email automatically for quick triage. Agree with Benjamin: Also customize the behavior so that you can go to next newer, or next older.

I would not want this to be honest as it can download images, trackers, etc if you enabled this by default. I have download of images disabled on all email clients I use for this reason, but I dislike email clients that select next email. Especially when spam email is prevalent.

This feature seems like it would be trivial to implement, but it would be a huge usability improvement ... please prioritize.

Before the latest web upgrade, one could archive/delete an item in their inbox list, and the next would be automatically selected. This made it easier to archive/delete items without having to employ extra mouse-clicks. Please restore this ability.

Oh I need more votes. Shortcuts are for saving time, but you have to consider the workflow rather than just individual shortcuts.
The Delete-Read Next-Delete process currently it seems to be T>G I>Right Arrow>Enter>T.
When it could just be T>T! -

For the the one complaining about people moaning.
Secuirty do not need to work aside from produtivity.
It could be as simple as a special shortcurt for that.
It is even worst because after clicking T to thrash the message the keyboard cursor lost focus in message list. So you need to click TB then click enter to get the message open.
So you need to click 3 keys in sequence to do the most common task every user to in their interface.
It is poorest UX design I ever meet.
And no statement from company in years make it even worst.
Security excuses are not good enough to justify a poor job since there is alternatives. -

It is the most unrespectfull thing I ever see in a product.
Such a simple an obvious thing, asked for years by the users and not implemented.
If it is not addressed soon, I will need to leave the service. -

In all other email applications I've used, when you select an email then delete it, the next email is highlighted/selected. Proton mail is very frustrating because it never automatically selects the next email, you have to click on it. This means when you need to review and delete multiple emails, you have to manually select each time, which really slows things down.

I would like to have ProtonMail auto-load the next email in my inbox after archive or deleting an email.

instead of having an additional click to read the next email, automatically go to it.

Gmail has this really neat feature called auto-advance, which automatically puts you in the next mail in your inbox when you archive/delete an email.
In Gmail this setting looks like this:
After archiving, deleting, muting, etc. a conversation:
[] Go to the next (newer) conversation
[X] Go to the previous (older) conversation
[] Go back to the thread listThis feature is a real productivity booster, which I would love to see implemented in Protonmail as well. Should not be too hard to implement either.

This feature has been suggested by others; I'm re-opening it. I cannot believe that ProtonMail doesn't provide the ability to automatically go to the next or previous message after deleting or filing the current one. I'm disappointed that previous requests have been ignored for 3+ years. I won't be adopting ProtonMail as my primary e-mail address (and upgrading to a paid plan) until this feature is added. It's a deal-breaker not to have it.
