ProtonMail Bridge for Linux
I don't have a Windows or OSX machine, so ProtonMail Bridge doesn't appear to be an option for me. Is there any way Bridge for Linux could happen? The site says it's coming soon, but when is soon?
We are happy to announce that ProtonMail Bridge for Linux is now available in closed Beta for all paid users. Please email us at bridge@protonmail.ch for an invite.

All: it's starting to roll out. I was just contacted to be a Beta tester and have installed it on Kubuntu 17.10 / Thunderbird. It's getting there; there are a few bugs to be worked out. They have an RPM and DEB package being tested at the moment.
It's in active development :) -

I tried Wine, but wouldn't work. Guys, *please* hurry up with that. How hard can it be to make a Linux version (especially GUI-less) once MacOS is ready?

@ProtonMail, I understand that your team is working on many things to improve ProtonMail. Since Bridge is something already established, there is a problem with equity for Linux users.

Seems to me that Protonmail is not actively working on this, even though they promised to have it ready early in 2018.
Meanwhile, if you are on linux look at Thunderbird and Enigmail. Its easy to use, built-in and in many ways better than Protonmail. And it is free. Enigmail is also a very good starting point for understanding OpenPGP and how to use it. And for encryption you won't be limited to forcing your correspondence partners into Protonmail. Tails linux uses Thunderbird and enigmail if you have doubts about security. -

Protonmail: could you give us, collectively, a status update on when you think Bridge for Linux will be available, even for beta testing? As someone pointed out, there's a good overlap between Linux users and Protonmail users. Thank you!

I'm actually using protonmail+VPN for trust in privacy, but being able to check my mail on thunderbird with my other accounts could be more than nice (Archlinux).

Linux users and Protonmail users you would think have a serious overlap.

Will this also be available for FreeBSD? It would be nice to have a POSIX compliant app so that all the Unices can enjoy Protonmail. A lot of us have switched to FreeBSD in the last few years.

Really looking forward to it. This is the last tool I need to totally migrate to using Protonmail as my main email provider. Don't let us down guys!

Very important to me too! But although a bridge for unices is not available yet, this is not an incredible disappointment but an honour for me to contribute to this project with a paid account. Thank you and go ahead!
