How can we improve Proton Mail or Calendar?

Auto-Archive Email

Outlook provides the ability to set rules for automatically archiving email based on age and folder/label. Rules like this allow a user to keep their mailbox clean and reduce storage utilization.

It would be fantastic if we could set the following:

  1. A default auto-archive age for all mail.
  2. Set custom auto-archive ages for a certain folder or label that overrides the default.

Even if the default is set to "Off" for everyone, I'd love this ability.

    As a parent of children with unsupported School needs it is vital to know that an email has been sent to school notifying of late/non attendance.
    Ordinarily my partner will send, but if not I will need to.
    Being able to set a sieve filter that would be applied to these emails after x hours to move and auto-archive would permit my visibility of the emails in the inbox but for them to be auto-tidied in the same way as if set a expiry time - but will retain the email as evidence of communication if/when there are attempts to charge us with criminal offense of not ensuring proper education attendance by the same authority that is also breaking the law by not providing a suitable education provision.

    I wonder what are the difficulties to make a filter based on age manually? It would be such a good tool to keep our mailbox clean. Make it integrated into Protonmail or by adding options to the Sieve filter, its all good for me.

    One way this could be implemented by having a Sieve script run on a folder/label every X days automatically, this way we can do custom auto-archive, auto-delete, or a mix of both.

    Then you could add a convenient setting to generate that script like the "Always move sender's emails" option which generates and sets a Sieve script to do that.

    I really need this! My emails are so cluttered and if there was a function to auto-archive after I read an email would be so awesome.

    Would very much like for a configurable automatic archive timer like the trash & spam auto delete expire, but only applies after an email is read.

    Would like the ability for emails to be automatically sent to the Archive folder once read. Only want to see new unread emails in the new email folder.

    Maybe it would be good to create something similar to "vnd.proton.expire" in the filters. Something like "vnd.proton.autoarchive" or "vnd.proton.delayedfileinto". Then the user could set the parameter just like in expire function.

    We could allow the user to "delete" instead of archive as well.
