Allow us to map ProtonDrive to a local network drive
There are examples, such as onedrive, that maps a network drive to a cloud storage location.
This is also possible with Azure storage accounts.
If we could map a password protected local network drive to our proton drive, well, that would just be awesome. I'm not sure if it is possible or how much work it would be, be it would be a very nice feature.
Thanks

I just installed Proton Drive, and it seems to work perfectly.

This is desperately needed. I want to sync my Proton Drive to a network drive (on my NAS) and not to a local drive of my computer. Please implement this. Why does it matter for the client what type of drive it is?

I've tried adding a network folder/share to proton drive on a few different occasions and I'm surprised it's still not a feature. Currently I have a scheduler running a script at intervals to copy files to a local folder but is that really what's expected from NAS + Proton Drive users?

I just tried to add a network drive to Proton Drive and got: "Unable to add 1 folder: Syncing folders from network drives is not supported." Win 11. Doesn't look like syncing from NAS to Proton Drive is possible.

It would be nice to have the possibility to see Proton Drive on the local Windows computer (and why not, Linux), mounted as a remote drive, so the visible files don't have to be necessarily copied locally before being opened. And maybe, with the possibility of seeing into it the photos synced from mobile app.
How would this proposal be different from the current windows client app?
The current Proton Drive client for Windows, features a local directory that gets synced with Proton Drive account. This directory is on the local computer disk, and needs local space to be used. Moreover, in the current windows client, it's possible file-by-file to select "free up space", but still every time the file is opened or copied somewhere else, it is downloaded and uses local space. If copies are to be done with big number of files, it's possible that the space needed overall locally would not be enough, because Proton Drive storage can hold more space than the local disk, depending on the local computer. So the feature set of the current windows client is a somehow limiting for data access, and prevents performing with success big data transfers needed for personal backup and restore. -

My files are in a NAS, mounted by Windows11. These drives can't be sync'd by Proton Drive client for Windows.
I don't want to put all files locally in the laptop, it could get damaged or stolen when on the road.
