This is very important to me. I can understand that syncs aren't instantaneous but having to wait hours upon hours for changes to sync is ridiculous. Even a "sync now" button for paying users would be great!

This is my #1 complaint with Proton Calendar. I haven't fully switched yet from GCal for precisely this reason. Even if it synced up once every 30 minutes or one hour, that would be much better than the current four hours (or so I've heard that's the interval).

Ideally, we need this sync to happen every hour or so, as I'll often have events added to external calendars that are for that day.

Bump! I'm also trying to concentrate all my calendars (four different work calendars) into Proton Calendar app, and the lag in syncing them to Proton's app is truly and deeply frustrating. if you have no intention to make your services interoperable with other services, then I'll stop using your apps besides the mail app and make another calendar app my primary calendar.

Please please give us a way to sync on demand or at least more frequently

I'm trying to unify my calendars and tasks around proton calendar, but the delay on my work's external google calendar and Todoist calendar created on google calendar is very annoying.

I'm currently using google calendar for this sole reason of having more aggressive pooling time :(

I am not sure why the delay if the calendar is external and I mostly want to read the data that's coming from the internet anyway.

And i suppose there is nothing on the roadmap since this thread is from 2022. kinda sad, thread comrades.

I try to found a Sync too for my external calendars.
I have two external calendars (from my jobs) and they cannot be sync with Proton calendar.

The first connexion is okay and everything is updated. But the next days Proton calendar doesn't sync at all the events from the other accounts.

This could be really heplful in my case and I think for lot of Proton calendar users.

This is very useful as I sync my Todoist tasks to the calendar and it takes hours to sync. Now imagine trying to plan your week this way! I would really appreciate a "update now" button to manually update it. It seems like a simple feature, although most of the calendars on the market don't offer it, I've only seen it on two other services.

Yes please! Add a "sync now" button *and* poll for updates more frequently. I don't know if it'd decrease the infrastructure load, but if so, where I really need rapid syncing is in only for the current day and the week ahead, to know if my immediate-future schedule has changed!
