Linux client
I hope you will create a file sync app for Linux similar to the ones for Windows and Mac.

The overall poor integration with Linux is cincerning. Mabycare junpibg ship from the now dying Windows 10 and usually to distros that are easier to access and have a similar feel to earlier less toxic iterations of Windows. That Proton isn't quite there with open arms for the likes of Zorin or Linuxmint misses the chance to push Linux but also has dropped tge ball for a real marketing opportunity and mightcl even deter Linux newbies already subscribed to a Proton plan..

They say they use Linux themselves and promote the usage of Linux. Unfortunately, Linux users are second-class citizens.
The mission is to give people reasons and viable paths away from data mining, poor security and people as products, right? Why are they giving people reasons to stay on Windows?
And why didn't they start open source development on Linux apps? The community would be all over it helping development already (even though Proton should do it). It would at least achieve the end-goal. Instead of always being the ****** because you choose to use the secure and private OS option. It's not how it should be and I'm disappointed. The result is that I haven't used Proton Drive and other services much. I pay for it too, so it's kinda unfortunate that it's not more readily available.
I thought they would put more effort into Linux. Their VPN app also is quite tedious to use. You have to search up every country every time instead of just clicking a map, which is the ultimate GUI solution! An they removed this on Android, requiring every re-connect to be many tedious taps and typing. I don't understand what's going on over there lately. :/

This is a relay from the 2024 Proton AMA - Andy Yen
We're currently looking at options for how to fund this. It's an expensive development because Linux has so many different flavors and we need deep integration with the filesystem, and it is not yet clear if there are enough Linux users that would allow us to offset the cost of this development. Like many things Linux, it may eventually just have to subsidized from Proton's reserve budget. That doesn't mean it won't get done, it will just take longer since we are also subsidizing several other efforts at this time, such as the Proton VPN free servers for elections campaign: https://protonvpn.com/blog/free-servers-before-elections -Andy

I can't get Drive search to work well on any browser. Linux needs an app.
