Content Search for Mobile App

I think Proton really needs to stop focusing on new products for a bit and make sure the features of their core products are complete. I would love to switch to Proton fully, but the lack of message body search on the mobile apps is preventing me from switching to the service.

I finally figured out why I can’t find any email using the proton app. It can search body content. Now I regret migrating to proton mail, but I’m considering going back to Gmail because this will have serious impact on my life which as filing for taxes (receipts).

Search needs improvement. It is just ok in the web app, but it is terrible in android app. Please fix it.

Just downloaded the new update. No searchable message content as far as I can see. I’m incredibly disappointed, that’s the one feature a lot of us were hoping for coming to mobile.

It is definitely important to get this feature on mobile app (android for me). Being able to search inside the body of email is one of the key asset of gmail. I will not migrate from gmail to Proton as long as it is missing. It is the only missing feature to make me make this switch

The lack of full-text search made me stop using Proton. I initially switched from Gmail and was happy with it until I couldn't find information a few times. I thought my emails have disappeared or that I couldn't remember (but I was sure it was there!) and thought I was going crazy. I found out the hard way that Proton actually is unable to search email contents and that's a dealbraker for me. At this point it's the most critical feature for me.

@urge11 this is not the same as offline mode. Since I am online when i search and cannot search the content of the email (like I can on the browser mode)

Just can't believe it's not available. Keeps me and my family from migrating from gmail.

Do you know what the problem can be with my proton mail account? Many websites reject these addresses for some reason. For example, some forums write that the mailer is forbidden. I tried to register at https://www.tenderbang.com/ but registration mails are, obviously, blocked by mailer as they have never been received. I have a free account, maybe the reason is in that? Do I need to pay something?

This really needs more attention. I am in the process of switching to Proton from Gmail, and I thought Gmail could be terrible at search from time to time, but Proton really beats it.
Content search is crucial, without content search it is very difficult to find information on the go. In addition to searching in the e-mail body, I would like the search to find information in attachments as well.
It's 2025, don't say it is not possible, because I know it is if enough resources are put on it.

This desperately needs to be done to make it viable for anyone having imported thousands of e-mails from other services and wanting to get rid of them.

Mail is like a second brain to me, so it would be great if not essential to be able to search message content in the mobile app as well.

This is just insane that text search in emails is even theoretically supported only in browser. I'm using Proton Mail for a while now and I like it a lot, but if you guys want to become a professional suite of work instruments, content search should be present across all platforms.

Without this feature the mobile app is almost unusable. Is there any ETA on this?

If I'd known I couldn't search email content on mobile without using my browser in a desktop mode—or search my cloud storage files on mobile—I wouldn't have switched to Proton. As much as I like other aspects of Proton's products this is a disaster for how I expect to use products in those classes and I'm looking at other options.
