Virus Scan for Attachments
Gmail scans attachments in e-mails for viruses and other malware. It would be nice if Proton was able to scan attachments in e-mails for viruses so we don't accidentally download an infected file.

It would be wrong to assume that any email attachments have been scanned for malware and scripts as other email providers do, since this is encrypted email. If I know and trust who is sending me an attachment, it doesn't protect me if they aren't aware that their system has has been infected by a virus that duplicates and attaches itself to files. I have such a contact, but since becoming aware of it I do not accept attachments from them. Since Proton email is encrypted, the scanning would have to be done by us the end user?
