Critical Team features for Calendar
The following key features for efficient team usage of proton calendar seem to be missing at the moment:
Editing Shared Events
Users cannot modify events created by others—such as adding attendees after an invitation is sent. This is a critical limitation for enterprise workflows, where event adjustments are frequent.
Event Duplication
There’s no option to duplicate events, forcing manual recreation when editing permissions are restricted. The absence of this workaround significantly hampers productivity.
Shared Calendar Administration
Only the calendar owner can manage invitations, creating a bottleneck for team-wide calendar management. This centralization is impractical.
Selective Busy/Free Visibility
Busy/free status must be set globally for entire calendars, not per event. This forces manual duplication of events to control visibility, which is inefficient and error-prone.
Sharing Event Details Within Teams
Calendars shared within a team default to “busy” status, hiding event names. While privacy is important, the option to share event details internally would be useful.
Invitation by Group
Sharing a calendar via a group alias isn’t supported—each user must be added individually. Enabling group-based invitations (ideally with automatic updates for new members) would streamline this.
Third-Party Integration
Tools like Cal.com are difficult or impossible to integrate, a problem for teams relying on external scheduling tools.
