Sync contacts, calendars, and notes with native mobile apps
To sync with your cell phone and email - iphone calendar, contacts, and notes.
ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

If you sync with your phone then you open up for Google to certainly invade your privacy. After all Android is their baby. Everyone will need an Iphone in order to remain safe.

It would be great to sync contact with nextcloud/owncloud/etc using cardav.
syncing calendars with caldav could be useful as well -

I wanna live free from those American tech giants that sell my data to third parties.

If you did this, I would put all of my energy into forking android and releasing a "security hardened" Android handset built for protonmail users, removing all Google core services. Either that or come work for protonmail to forge a copperhead os partnership... ; )

A simple text note sync tool (like SimpleNote) with a basic note gui on mobile/desktop (ResophNotes, Notational Velocity) would be great.

This is the frature I want the most, If I could have used all 7 votes on it I would have.
I have a sense of peace knowing my data is both private and secure (not that there's anything of great interest to anyone in my email - other than identity data and maybe some financial details). I turned to Protonmail because I lost FAITH in US based companies like Google to store my data privately. My data belongs to me, not a Government, nor is it up for sale to advertisers.
I would love to get rid of Google altogether, and the dependence on iCloud calendar, contacts, and notes.

Agreed with all of the other comments - once this is implemented I will be rid of Google permanently (minus G-Voice). But I am seriously looking forward to this feature if it is implemented. It would really make Protonmail a secure, convenient, and easy to use Google replacement. And one that I can easy recommend to less tech-savvy family members!

Like others, I cannot fully move away from GMail until ProtonMail has an integrated calendar, with an associated (Android) app. I'm a premium user of ProtonMail, and I encourage all my clients to use secure messaging services; it would be easier to ditch GMail completely if ProtonMail replaced all its core functions (Mail, Calendar, and SMS/MMS). Thanks!

Agreed with most on this list. I cannot fully move away from Google or Hotmail until Calendar is put into place. Thank you!

Definitely need calendar support. I manage all my events/todos with google calendar. I can't move away from google completely unless protonmail supports this.

Very necessary. Can't switch away from Google like we wanted without Calendar and better Contacts.
