Schedule Emails

I have another email service that allows users to schedule draft emails to be sent at a specified date/time in the future. Once the draft is complete, the email is automatically sent at the future specified date/time, unless that draft email is deleted/replaced prior to the send date/time. The draft email can either reside in an existing "draft" folder or a separate "outbox" folder (as distinguished from "draft" that does not have a scheduled send date/time).

Different Emphasis from Similar Postings:
I noticed a number of other similar postings, however, I wanted to provide this new posting to possibly emphasize something more than what I saw emphasized in other similar postings: closely related general delivery options. I would suggest ProtonMail allow every draft email to have a drop down menu that provides the option for selecting "Delivery Timing" using a calendar display for selection of a date and a time field to select/enter a corresponding time on that selected date (time should be clearly set for a selected time zone, e.g., CST or GMT, to reduce possibilities for confusion on timing). Again, whenever "Delivery Timing" options are selected, the draft email can then reside either in the existing "draft" folder or in a newly appearing "Outbox" for any pending emails to be sent at a future date/time. The other email service I use provides a range of closely related general delivery options to also include:
-- "Message Priority" (Low, ******, High);
-- "Private" (to help prevent email forwarding, if clients support that);
-- "Return Receipt" and
-- "Delivery Timing" (previously addressed)
I recommend ProtonMail make these general delivery option menus accessible via one additional icon next to the existing row of icons on draft emails for "Attachments," "Encryption" and "Encryption time." The icon could be a clock next to a letter (just a suggestion), since "Encryption time" already uses a clock icon.

I don't believe other similar postings emphasize these closely associated general delivery Options. I have previously given this other email provider feedback on perfecting their services in other areas (with different providers having different strengths/weaknesses), but this is one particular feature they have had for a very long time that I believe provides an excellent example to follow.

    This is an amazing feature! like @Mary Mae I work late. Being able to schedule emails to be sent at 8-9 am would be a life saver. Sometimes I have to wake up just to click the send button and go back to sleep.

    I work late and the ability to compose emails, but not send the until reasonable working hours for certain people is a critical function. Pre-schedulimgis a top 3 requirement for me. i'd gladly pay if this was included as an option.

    I think it potentially has a quite a number of uses - I'd like to use it for 'slow mail' - to be able to write letters back and forward with a time delay..

    I do not want to annoy my employees or clients with emails late at night or on the weekend. People are bad at managing notifications, so I want to be a caring manager and keep that in mind. I enjoyed this feature in email (via an add on called Boomerang), and I would like to see this in Protonmail.

    Would love the ability to schedule email. Would also love the (related) ability to have an email bounce back to the top of my inbox, like boomerang for gmail.

    I want something that I can write a 2am but delay email delivery until next day around 10am

    I often need to send an email in the morning that I am writing the night before, or send on monday that I am writing during the weekend. It would be great to have my be able to write my email ahead of time. That way instead of having to be worried about forgetting to send an important email from drafts, It will be sent automatically

    Scheduled E-Mail delivery is a critical and basically have-to for any serious E-Mail provider. Especially from a business point of view there are a multitude of situations where such functionality is needed.

    For private use, there also cases where this would be great. Just imagine an E-Mail with kind words to someone you want to read him/her at the right time but are unable to send it due to <?>.

    @lonestar007 - "'dead-man' safety" for whistleblowers...
    I never thought of it that way - funny and brilliant!

    I also agree ProtonMail rules are effective at helping to ensure no one is ever in need of a "dead-man safety" :-)

    This will help everyone in a lot of ways. Eg: wishing a friend or your clients happy birthday, when you schedule it for the day!!

    This will change totally Protonemails future. there will be a more users

    @ Anonymous - In my mind the term "email campaign" sounds very much like "spam" which is already not allowed under protonmail rules. This idea could be used as a "dead-man" safety for wistleblowers.

    In response to the question: "So you want a free email campaign functionality?"

Also, while one might technically be able to conduct what some might call a rudimentary email campaign, using this basic functionality, I believe anyone strictly seeking to conduct email campaigning would seek services that are wholly dedicated to that goal.

    I would be willing to pay for this feature. Helps with basic deniability by allowing one to be some where else when the e-mail sends or arrives. In addition the alert/fail-safe feature mentioned on August 21, 2017.
