Please add dark mode

The dark mode (currently v.4 Beta 8) really needs to be optional: I understand the demand for it but I don't like it at all.

About the design and look & feel of current beta version 436.13 of ProtonMail.

I gave it a try for a couple of days and my permanent feeling is that this dark color which has been chosen is really hard for the visual comfort, not appealing at all, not to mention that it provides the (my) perception of a depressive app.
The look and feel of the current 3.16.20 version is more in the grey color and so, more pleasant and comfortable from a visual stand point.

Also I observed that in beta version, the list of folders and labels is much too spaced while it is more condensed and packed in current standard version.

A beta is a beta and what we see is not what we'll get at the end. However, knowing that you are thinking at developing a full dark mode (for those who like it), would be good that the future alternative full light mode does not come with this agressive dark color and keeps being "light".

Stylus/Stylish browser extensions currently offer multiple options to patch the theme to dark.

I'm using the current beta version of Protonmail, and while I like the darker theme for the side and toolbar, I think it's very jarring ot have the inbox area body still be a white background. It's the exact same problem I have with Outlook for the desktop that the web portal version has solved.

Please make the whole thing one theme, not just the side and toolbars.

I agree, dark mode would be a huge benefit. I am visually impaired and find the faint font and light background very difficult to read, especially in the mobile app. The ability to adjust the font size would also be helpful.

Dark mode should also be supported in the new iOS and iPadOS version 13!

This is already possible with custom CSS.
