Split address mode - separate emails into different inboxes
Separate email addresses are for separate things so it would be helpful to just click an email address from the menu and see only those emails sent to that specific ProtonMail address.
Multiple inboxes.

We are reviewing this idea to get closer to a clean inbox for all our users. We will let you know once we have more updates

I so strongly regret switching to Proton Mail. And now, I give up.
Like most others:
–a primary reason I switched was the separate e-mail addresses;
–I thought those different e-mail addresses would automatically have separate Inboxes;
–Filters do not work;
–Requests for this feature are all over this forum without any response, much less change in features, other than this response that is years old.It’s been four years almost to the day since Proton’s zen desk told me separation was under consideration.
This ridiculous situation, the lack of spell check, and the quite limited formatting have made Proton Mail more trouble than it’s worth. Last week, I purchased a new e-mail system and will now start the multi-year process of moving to it.

Please create the option, within the Proton Mail client, to view and manage separate inboxes for each email address or domain tied to the account.
I use Proton Mail to manage several distinct email addresses and custom domains, each serving a different purpose— business and personal, etc. Currently, all incoming emails are delivered to the same unified inbox, which is a mess and renders Proton Mail completely useless for me.
This is basic standard functionality and it baffles me why Proton Mail doesn't support this.

Since 2 years under review. I would appreciate it if it would be soon possible to use separate inboxes.
This prevents me from movingy business mail to Proton. I tried but filters and folders didn't do the job for me.
If this isn't soon released I have to cancel my subscription. It feels I'm paying for unlimited and can't use all its potential. -

Honestly if I would have known that email addresses aren't split I would have never paid for the service.. Having everything in one inbox is so beyond annoying that I think I might just delete my email accounts and try elsewhere.
when you have 3 email addresses, one of them being a business address, having separate sent messages and inbox messages is so ungodly important I can't believe I missed that this wasn't a thing. -

Labels and filters do not work when I need separate inboxes and sent boxes to keep my communications accounts separate. This is to say nothing of the storage size of a single inbox with 5 emails coming into it, which under GMail all had their own dedicated size limits.
I get that it all takes time but this is a core fundamental feature nearly everyone I know uses. It's absolutely imperative to have different accounts/inboxes/sent boxes/storage capacities given the sheer quantity of email purposes and actual emails I get, on a personal level. Please please please expedite this rollout.
This is unworkable for me as it currently sits and will be downgrading my account level. -

I understand that some would prefer separate mailboxes for separate addresses, but not all of us. I would be happy with being able to have a special label type automatically applied on receipt of a mail to a secondary address. This would allow me to identify mails to different addresses in my inbox and quickly filter by address using the labels.

actually, what's the point of having 15 email addresses if they all end up mixed in the same folder? Sure, I can use labels and personal folders with filters, but it's not the same thing.

AND Seperate Sent Items etc. Unless this is the case, the Proton Unlimited (and I assume business accounts) pricing and marketing is deceptive and needs changing to describe the "15 email addresses" as aliases since common use of language would expect an email address not to deliver to and send from THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS.

This will greatly help me with having my business emails separate from my personal emails. improving my time management and organization.

Any updates on this topic? This Uservoice has got 930+ votes and is still under review for almost 2 years. It's a pitty. I'm thinking of switching from MS and Google Services to Proton, have already a MailPlus Account, would Upgrade to at least unlimited, but managing different Inboxes for different Mailadresses would be essential.

Having separate inboxes per email address will greatly help me in finding my business emails.

I moved back to my previous email provider after discovering all email from different accounts was delivered in the same mailbox, this is really not what I expected. Please bring this very basic feature to all account types, not just the corporate ones. Thank you!

Can be done using Filters and Folders.

Hi, could we please get this option! The original post was in 2021, it was answered in 2023 and you seem to be evaluating since then.. we are in 2025 now. It is a very basic requirement to be able to access our different email address independently and not having everything in one inbox. Thank you for your consideration.

It would be nice to not have just one inbox for multiple email addresses - it would be nice to have a list of inboxes for each email address.

I agree this is a mess without emails split out. PLEASE
