Allow more than one free account in the app when signed in with a paid account
In the Protonmail mobile app, you can log in with multiple accounts at the same one, but only one of these accounts is allowed to be on the free plan, even if you have another paid account.
I understand the restriction when using only free accounts, but I already pay for my main account. I need to monitor two mailboxes of groups/organizations that I'm in. Both of them are on the free plan, which means I have to choose which one I add even though I pay for my main account.

Agreed. I cannot merge the free accounts into my paid plan because I would lose all their data, but I cannot add more than 2 free accounts to the mobile app despite paying for the unlimited plan.
There should be a way for us to request from support to increase the limit to match the number of free accounts we own, with any further accounts to be created under the paid plan instead.

Yes I agree.
It is very tedious having to log in and out of my other two free acounts from my paid account. If Proton is letting me have multiple accounts it seems perverse to then restrict my ability to access them simultaneously.

This is critical for me. I don't think there should be a limit even on 100% free accounts but even so, I've had so many times where I had to sign into my PC just to use an email magic link/2FA code because an account is linked to a different address. I keep my emails compartmentalized, even with my Proton Pass aliases, as I like to keep it organized. I have my main which uses my Proton Pass aliases, but I also have an account dedicated to media and game platforms, as well as an account specific to payment and online shopping platforms.
Not being able to access all of those on mobile is very, very irritating.

I don’t think there should be a limit for free accounts on the mobile app if you have 1 paid account. I recently came from Google Mail and had 3 different email accounts. 1. Work email account, 2. Online Gaming Personal, 3. Personal. I basically have 3 identities on the internet. I found it really annoying that I can’t be logged into the proton mail app on my iPhone on only 2 of these accounts, since one is a paid account with a custom domain.
I noticed you could achieve this with 1 paid email account and then have different “accounts” within that paid account, but to me this defeats the purpose.
I like my email accounts to be separated and with different strong passwords to obsecure my email usage, so if one was comprised, the others wouldn’t be affected.
I think there should be some sort of feature within proton mail to have more than 1 free account on the IOS app, as now, I have to choose to not receive any notifications on one of my free accounts, on my iPhone, which is a massive pain to me. This could possibly be achieved with something like child accounts of the paid account? So you can link different proton accounts to the one paid account and still be able to have a different password for each account while being able to be logged into all of them at once.
Why is there a limit of free accounts on the IOS app anyway? None of this really makes sense to me.

At first as far as I remember the number of free accounts was tentatively unlimited, and now you can have only one (specifically to avoid bulk sign-ups and things like that).
I think there should be a maximum number like two or three, at least so that people can have one for general use to share with their friends and family with an easily remembered username (like their own name), and one more private address with a username that doesn't identify them.
I don't think people should have to choose between privacy and everyday usefulness, so limiting it to only one account (rather than two or so) I think greatly damages the image of Protonmail as both usable and private.
