Similar to other other requests on this. When you have anything above the free version you likely have a few email addresses for various things. Some aren't that private and you would hand your laptop to a colleague to read, whereas other emails are highly sensitive and you wouldn't want to risk someone being able to see those messages.
A password protection/password to decrypt certain subfolders would be ideal.

I really need this feature and i guess so do lot of people. I have proton unlimited and i share the VPN connection with all the devices at home that means everyone at home can access the contents in drive which i do not like so i'm really hoping that we will have this feature soon.

Dear Protonmail Team,
Provide a facility to protect, lock Important Folders in our protonmail.com email by OTP method (One Time Password).
i.e You can lock the important folders & then it can be Unlocked only when you give OTP (One Time Password) which is send on our registered Mobile Number.
As usually Important folders contain important, sensitive emails, files attachments like from - Banks, Insurance Company, Payment Wallets, Income Tax, Sharemarket, Medical Report, Travel Tickets, Hotel Booking, Electricity Bills, Telephone Bills, Company Data, R&D Data,....................etc, many, almost all things.
By this above method even if your protonmail.com email Account gets hacked, the hacker won’t be able to access the important, sensitive emails, files attachments & further cannot misuse the information in these emails, files.
We now need “Digital Security” Everywhere. No more Misuse of Technology.
Plz forward this email to the concerned Person, Department.
Regards,

I know this has been posted a few times in various ways. The whole idea of ProtonMail is that it is secure, secure, secure right? I have a few email addresses where the address as a whole is shared by a large group of people. I dream of a sharable email address that can have an encrypted, password-protected folder for each person using that address. I would think if there was any email that would this feature it would be ProtonMail.

How about adding a PassWord feature for the email folders like the Inbox/Sent/Drafts etc. And any personal folders.

I will have a little question (I push a little more security)
But would it be possible to consider being able to put a pin code or a password
additional (option that we could cohere or uncheck)
for particular files?
It would be interesting to have records with extra security to access.
For example if one is absent and the box remains open.It would be really good!
Thank you
and continue your good work, the interface is really great and simple, I've been looking for it since long ago !

Be able to set another password for the Archive folder separately.

I might have missed it, but I'd like to create folders only accessible after asking another password (same as login or custom one).

Thanks for the folders, they're great and now it would be nice to be able to password protect them.

Wanted to suggest that idea myself (in fact, that's exactly how I ended up in here!), so I am 100% with you on that one. Would love to see that implemented!

The ability for users to hide certain emails and leave them inaccessible without a special link and/or password. This would make hiding important emails much safer should your account become compromised by a third party. They would not only need to know your login plus your mailbox, but a third mailbox password and the specific link to the folder. I know, I think it sounds like a lot of work, but it seems like a good idea. Does it not?
