Bridge Desktop App
I know that Protonmail can't integrate with existing desktop mail apps, such as Apple Mail our Outlook, because of the extra passwords. However, I'm not a fan of having to access Protonmail through my browser. Is it possible to build a desktop app with similar functionality to Apple Mail our Outlook (minus the extras, such as calendar integration etc... although that would be nice too)? If you guys build an iphone app, for example, then I don't see it as a huge step to move on to a Mac OS app after that.
With the ProtonMail Bridge, it is possible to use ProtonMail with any Desktop client while still maintaining end-to-end encryption. https://protonmail.com/blog/thunderbird-outlook-encrypted-email/

I guess, people are still hoping for a dedicated Desktop app so they don't have to use Bridge. There is a new thread here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/32452676-a-real-proton-mail-client

You've never done it before, but independent developers have done it:
https://github.com/vladimiry/ElectronMail
Please the proton team try to work with them to make the application official:)
Why don't you hire this great developer?

I love ProtonMail and am on the Mac would love a dedicated desktop app and bypass Mail and Bridge. Bridge is nice for now but a dedicated app to remove from the Mac ecosystem would be great.

I'd prefer a Protonmail app as opposed to integrating with "Mail" on my mac...just like the app you provide for my iPhone...

Why would you want to use ProtonMail on Apple. If Apple sends your emails to NSA anyways? Just use Google if you don't care about privacy.

FYI this feature is in testing for Mac desktop. On an iPhone or iPad you still need to use the ProtonMail app.

In addition to the previous two comments, which I agree, I use Apple devices and do consulting. In particular, Siri implementation allows voice commands on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, form the user to say: “send an email” Siri then asks who to send it to, subject, and the content of the email., etc. This ONLY works if using Apple's Mail client application on those devices. I have a client I consult who uses only her voice to work the computer and requires Siri. Thus, implementation of ProtonMail using Mail would be great.

I think this is a good feature request, however let's be agnostic and say "IMAP Clients" rather than "Apple Mail".

I don't see ProtonMail Bridge listed on the beta page. Where is the sign-up to beta test Bridge?

After trying out the ProtonBridge, I am even much much more in favor of a dedicated desktop application...
For one thing, using the Bridge, we have to have a separate mailbox for each and every email address we have - it is much nicer to have all the mail, for all the separate accounts 'live' in one mailbox as it does in the iOS app or in the browser..
Hoping for a desktop app very very much now!! -
