Allow password protected messages from Proton Mail Bridge.
Currently the Proton Mail Bridge does not support the ability to send password protected emails. Would like to see this added to Proton Mail Bridge.
This has the potential to dramatically improve user experience on an advanced privacy use case for user who are not yet ready to move to the Proton Mail client due to feature maturity gaps between it and more feature rich clients like Thunderbird.

Set message expiry via multi-select in message list
Right now the only way to set an expiry on a message in the user interface is by selecting each message. It would be nice to add that feature to the bulk edit ability which is rather limited at the moment.

Make Mail Bridge Free
As a new user to the Proton ecosystem I'm put off by the fact that I need to pay for such a basic feature that other providers offer for free.

More advanced filter functionaility & testing
Hi,
I spent a bit of time searching through the existing ideas and feedback and it seems like quite a few users have the same desire I do.
I am a new user to Proton Mail and Proton Services in general and I pleased to say I've really enjoyed my experience thus far. I appreciate the tons of work that must have went into making security tools user friendly (who knew PGP could have ever hit mainstream?).
I say this next part with full appreciation of the work done thus far: it would also be great if Proton Mail could…

Drag new windows
At the moment, for users of more than one monitor, Proton Mail is extremely limiting. I'd like to be able to have my inbox open on my left screen and when I click to write a new email to be able to drag this window to my other screen. At the moment new windows cannot be dragged out of the Proton Mail app which is a very odd design decision which I've never seen in any other apps.

Open location of saved files when attachment is saved
At the moment when an attachment is saved in Proton Mail there is no feedback to confirm the file has been saved. In other email apps, when an attachment is saved, the folder where the item was saved usually opens which is very useful.

What filter was applied?
It would be great to know, what filter on an e-mail was applied.
Therefore, every created filter becomes an unique number.
Beside the shield icon (for trackers etc.) in the mail would be enough place for the filter icon :).
If there was no filter applied, the icon turns green without number.
Was there an allow-filter, the icon turns green with the number of the filter.
A block-filter turns the icon red with the number of the block filter, that's all.1 vote -
Add Editheader Sieve extension
It is my understanding that the deleteheader and addheader actions could be used to effectively modify the subject of an e-mail.

Starred folder count - show total instead of unread
I've noticed starred folder count (little number) shows only starred unread email count. it makes more sense to show the number of starred messages.

Make pdf attachements in emails searchable
Today I needed to find a receipt (PDF) which was attached to an email years ago. I have imported all my mail from gmail. I didn't find any emails in Proton Mail, but I found it in Gmail because I luckily haven't deleted my emails there yet. It would be great if PDFs were searchable also in Proton Mail.

Please add single-click button to connect to new ProtonVPN server
Is it possible to have a VPN Server 'hop' button that with a single click:
1) pauses any active sessions to prevent any bleeding while disconnecting from current server
2) disconnects from existing server
3) reconnects to a different server from the one just disconnected fromWhy do I want this? There are lots of reasons someone may need to hop to another server (troubleshooting network or server issues, accessing a website that doesn't like where traffic is coming from, etc.). It's something I find myself doing frequently, but if I just hit the disconnect button and then reconnect, it…

Need an option for folders to be collapsed by default
If you have a lot of nested folders they take up the entire visible portion of column (desktop). Very redundant to have to manually collapse folders on every login. Please provide this option. The sooner the better.

Move to Trash after specified date
Hi, I have an idea to improve the ProtonMail experience. I haven't seen this in other email clients aside from Outlook, but this is a rule that needs to be created first, not an option to each emails.
I would like a feature where emails can be tagged or moved to Trash on a specified date.

Inline Compose Option for Replies
When replying to emails, it is very often important to be able to read the content of the previous message. In the proton mail web and desktop clients, this is not possible, as the composer window in the corner of the screen hides much of the message.
My ideal behavior is similar to gmail, where the reply composer is below the message, allowing you to both scroll to and read the message you are replying to.

Attachment as a file
Adding an image as an attachment in Proton app means adding as an inline picture. To make it as the file attached I need to: wait until picture is loaded, click on it, select "add file as attachment". Only after this file is added as a file, not as an inline image. I request this process to be smoother for the cases when a user wants to add as a file.

A text box automatically added to all composed emails.
A "signature" that is automatically added to all composed emails.
This signature can include a prewritten text box that is added to the end. It can include anything that the composer wishes to add:
Address
Phone #
jpeg Signature"Proton Mail uses end-to-end encryption (E2EE) to ensure that only the sender and recipient can read the contents of their emails."

"Low Resource" mode
I work on resource-constrained systems very frequently, either because the systems themselves are small and/or have slow internet connections, or because I do a tremendous amount of multitasking for business development. I also spend a lot of time working alongside people who cannot regularly afford to shell out thousands on increasingly expensive consumer devices (phones, laptops).
GMail used to have a "slow internet connection" feature where it could render the Inbox in "HTML mode", using way less CSS, comparatively basic HTML, and just the core JS required for the features available. A benefit of that was that it also literally…

Ai filtering for emails
We already have an option for filtering, but I feel its too complex and underused. Having the option to have Ai filter emails based on your preferences (spam, school emails, promotional, and more...) to certain folders would be much better. All the while leaving the current system for people that prefer it. I see this as an absolute MUST HAVE for the future. Also this can be very key for quick summaries of each email on the notification. That way we have the jist of what we are going to open and read.
You could run the Ai on Graphics…
