  1. Get paid to recieve marketing emails

    Hello,
    It would be nice to have a subscription-based email address for senders to pay email recipients .5 – 1.0 cents for all of their sales information and reoccurring junk mail.

  2. Allow new users (proton.me) to use legacy domain (protonmail.com)

    "proton.me" and "pm.me" (current) is short and good, but few services--such as PlayStation account--does not accept both domain. However, when I test "protonmail.com" (legacy) as a domain, it got accepted, but it cannot retrieve mail simply because I am new to Proton Mail, so I don't own the domain.
    Anyway, about the PlayStation account, I had to use my Google Mail (gmail.com).

    Please provide the option to use the legacy domain for new users. It will be useful for anyone who had similar issue as me. Sorry and thank you.

  4. Auto-Delete Spam & Trash for free

    We already have the ability to automatically delete the Spam and Trash folders. But Free accounts don't have that.

    It would be a very nice convenience feature, and I don't think it really costs that much money to do that.

    Other private email providers already have this feature, so Proton is standing out by not having it for free.

  5. Automated folder filtering during Easy Switch

    Setting up Gmail forwarding as a new user to Proton almost made me quit the platform, it was so daunting to have that much data thrown at me. Setting up an easy transition like a dedicated Gmail forwarding folder option would make the transition alot easier for new users. Or predetermined filters that new users could setup, for example anything Social media related is filtered into a folder along with anything on a newsletter list.

  6. On iPhone app, the Contacts icon is too far away

    I have over 100 mail folders. When I want to go to my contacts, the icon is at the bottom of the list, so I have to scroll through my 100 mail folders to get there. It just take too much time to go to that icon for me to use Proton contacts.

  7. Allow unread emails in custom folders to still show up as notifications in iOS

    First, I have multiple aliases set up and have set up filters to redirect emails to each alias into different folders. The problem is, that since those emails are redirected to folders and no longer reside in my inbox, the notification icon on the app listing the number of new, unread emails no longer displays at all. I still get banner notifications, but I would much rather have a simple red circle notification displaying the number of unread email, regardless of whether it is in another folder.

    The second part... I know some people deliberately filter out junk email into…

  8. Track emails and attachments and links clicked

    I use Trustifi to track emails I have sent. I see a map of where it was opened. Tracking is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing.

    I enjoy seeing the IP address of the recipients location.

    I liked seeing when the links or attachments were opened or downloaded.

    I can see the time they opened the email. I know if they didn't open it. This has been very helpful. It prevented me from taking someone to court. they would have been blind-sided.

    I can see if the recipient forwarded it to someone else.

    I can make the email attachments open only once…

  9. Web app notifications on mobile [Android]

    Right now, I'm only using the installed web app on my Tab S9 Ultra. Right now the Android app is too unoptimized to even consider using it as default and is only installed for notifications.

    Unfortunately, the installed web app on Android doesn't seem to support notifications at all like on the desktop. I enabled every setting possible but I don't receive any notifications. Please consider adding working notifications for the mobile version of the web app.
    In the installed mobile web app from Outlook this feature exists already.

  12. Customize email notifications per product

    I'd like to be able to control notifications for email separately from notifications for calendar. On both MacOS and iOS, I only see one place to configure notifications and it affects both mail and calendar. If I must receive a notification for every single email, then to avoid this continuous distraction, I'm forced to disable notifications altogether, meaning I won't receive any notifications for my calendar appointments.

    Additionally, whether or not to see the red unread message count overlayed on my Proton Mail icon in MacOS should be configurable. That's another unneeded distraction.

  13. Non-Scrolling Message Header

    Make the message header fixed (non-scrolling) so that we can scroll down through the entire message and take action (delete, forward, etc.) without having to scroll back up to the top. This would reduce several irritations per day.

  14. Enable SMTP submission for mailPlus plan using custom domain address

    Given I have a custom domain registered in my mailPlus plan account, I wish I could submit e-mails via SMTP from my own dedicated server in the name of my custom domain address, to anyone.
    Unfortunately, this seems to be only available for Business, Proton Family and Mail Essentials.

  16. Timer until disconnection

    I tend to forget that proton vpn is running.

    It got certain acces blocked such as bank account as bank thought I was being hacked.

    I would appreciate to set a timer so that the vpn disconnects at some point.

  17. Screen first time emails before landing in inbox

    HEY! has the ability to screen emails from new addresses before they land in your inbox. Its the one feature that made me heavily consider their platform over Proton Mail. It'd be great to have something similar in Proton mail, where the first time an email address sends me something, I can approve whether or not to hear from them again.

  18. Improved synchronization error resistance in Proton Mail Bridge

    I really like the option to use Proton Mail Bridge to be able to get my Proton Mail account into Outlook.

    However, the Bridge is lacking a bit when it comes to resistance against synchronization errors. I have had several instances when the message count is different between Outlook and the Proton Mail web app.

    I need to be 100 % sure that what I see in Outlook matches what I see in the web app, and vice versa. Some sort of built-in folder/message comparing feature would be nice to have. I understand that the way things work with Bridge,…

  19. Reset label search box after selecting label

    When I search for a label and apply it, I often want to add a second label as well. It would be great if the search box automatically reset upon selection so that I can immediately search for my second (and third, ...) label.

    If it helps: how Gmail does it. This is probably my #1 UX annoyance after switching.
