Better bulk email moving
Hey Proton, thanks for all the awesome work you guys do! I recently organized my very messy inbox into folders based on sender and subject. I ended up just giving up because it was taking so long.
Here's the suggestion:
The sieve for new emails is awesome, but if you could use the same thing to organize old emails it would make organizing existing emails a hell of a lot easier. Thanks!!10 votes -
Edit sent message as NEW
I would like a way to go to my sent messages and edit them as a new message. This way they can be refined and resent to new contacts and resources that were not thought of or available when the message was first sent.

Allow the main menu on the LEFT side of the screen to collapse/close, thus giving more view.

Please, add something like Google's feature "Send mail as" (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en)
I have email addresses on other domains (work or school email addresses; for example example@gmail.com). I can automatically forward emails from these addresses to my ProtonMail inbox, but I cannot send email (reply) from my ProtonMail inbox like example@gmail.com. Thank you.

Protonmail for Business using business domains like gmail does
It would be great if Proton mail created a very inexpensive option to register your domain name and run all your email under your business domain under proton mail. Allowing for Pop3 and IMap. Having you're own custom domain under the Secure and encrypted Proton mail domain would be fantastic to help keep business communication highly secured.

Support JMAP
Supporting the JMAP protocol (https://jmap.io/) would be great. It aims at replacing IMAP and is much more efficient. FastMail is already using it.

Message Focus Behavior
When you select an email, the body of the message is displayed, When you select delete, or archive, you move to the next messages in your mailbox, however, the body of the message is not shown until you then select the message. Having to delete a message, then select the next message to view the body is not very efficient. Hope that makes sense.

Most recent emails at the top of thread, not bottom. I've already missed several because it goes to the oldest mail in the thread.

There's no setting for this. Other emails give most recent at the top.
Also, having my name on a thread when I have replied to someone is confusing. I didn't send the received message, my contact did, but I can't see who it was on threads of similar names.
I'm finding the inbox rather clunky.
I'd like to be a long term user of protonmail, but you need to improve its functionality before I'd do that.28 votes -
updating IOS app notification counter (applicationIconBadgeNumber)
The app icon on IOS has a notification counter displayed in the top right corner of the app icon. Unfortunately, this number is not being kept up-to-date. When I read an email on another device, the IOS app notification counter does not change (decrease). Gmail app can update this number in ~3 seconds after I open an email on another device.

Customizable outgoing encrypted e-mail
The outgoing encrypted e-mail is general and a bit messy (sorry). It would be nice to be able to customize it. I'd like to change language, as I live in Spain, and some of my elder patients do not speak english. Our company logo could be added as well as protonmail's. In my opinion, it's apperance would be more professional and clean.

Third party spell check support
I am dyslexic and as such have settled on using Grammarly as a way to spell-check and audit all of my outgoing messages.
Even though there is a built-in dictionary in both the web app and mobile version (supported more by the dictionary of the keyboard on the app) I find them really lacking and I find myself roundtripping between a word processor and the actual interface for every email as I'm anxious the built-in filter won't catch most mistakes.
I'm aware of the privacy and security flaws of using such systems but a toggle to allow them would be…

Archive button on iOS app
I almost always archive rather than delete messages once I’ve read them. The iOS app needs a setting to toggle the behaviour of trashing a file to archiving it, or ideally provide an Archive button. It’s the only thing that’s preventing me from using ProtonMail as my main email provider

Move "unsubscribe" button away from "load" remote content button on web interface
The buttons to load remote content and unsubscribe from a mailing list are very close to each other and it is easy to mistakenly press unsubscribe when intending to load remote content. Please move them to different areas of the screen

Conversation Grouping
If mails are grouped, only those should be grouped that a) mention / quote another mail OR b) if the mails arrived within x minutes.
Because as it is at present with me mails are grouped which were sent years(!) after each other. They also have nothing at all to do with each other. Only because both have the same title.
