Ability to Easily Copy or Export Entire Conversation Threads
Hello Proton Team and community,
I’d like to request an improved way to copy or export the full conversation history of an email thread.
Current Issue
Even though Proton Mail displays all related emails in a single conversation column, it’s currently not possible to copy the entire conversation at once. Each message has to be opened and copied manually, or users have to inspect and extract the content through HTML/JS workarounds, which is far from ideal.
Why This Is Problematic
This limitation becomes a real obstacle in several situations, for example:
When trying to provide the full context of an email exchange to a Large Language Model (LLM) for summarization or analysis
When archiving a conversation outside Proton Mail
When sharing a full thread with another person who wasn't originally included
Additional Confusion With Replies
Another related issue:
In the message view, replied emails sometimes include multiple layers of older messages directly in the body, while the conversation view also shows these messages separately.
This can make the thread hard to read or understand, especially in long chains where messages appear duplicated or nested.
Suggested Improvements
A simple “Copy entire conversation” button
Or an “Export conversation” option (TXT, PDF, or EML bundle)
More consistent handling of quoted messages vs. conversation view
This quality-of-life feature would save users a lot of time and reduce confusion when working with long chains of replies.
Thanks for considering this enhancement!Hello Proton Team and community,

Show raw, unmodified email source in both web and apps
Currently Protonmail does not display original, unmodified message headers and source in neither web or native clients.
Only the web client currently provides just modified "raw" headers, which is unusable for proper debugging and for making forensic copies. The SMTP bridge is even worse, it just shuffles all the headers around.

Calendy Connection
Hi! I would love to connect my Proton Calendar into Calendy, so I could schedule calls directly into my Calendar, and block busy times. Cheers!

Reply in message
Reply in the message
Currently, ProtonMail systematically requires me to reply separately from the original message.
I would like to be able to choose to reply in the message so that I can quote the paragraphs to which I am responding. At present, when the email contains numerous questions, I am forced to copy and paste or send several emails for each part, which is cumbersome and disruptive.

Proton Mail Appfor Windows: Email doesn't fit in window when using Column layout
When column layout is selected, there are 3 columns (folders, content of selected folder, and email window). Since the folder and content columns take up about half of the space and cannot be minimized, the email column is too narrow to view. Adding to this, the email font cannot be resized or scaled to fit in available space.
These features are available in every other mail app I have used; there is no reason the Proton UI cannot be at same level as competitors. Please correct this.

Calendar Weekly View: Select hours for better visibility
add an option to "zoom in" on specific hours, or alternatively add selection tool for a "work day". For instance, I don't need to constantly see the hours of 10pm to 7am, as I never schedule events then. But currently in the weekly view they're always visible, pushing the existing events further down on the screen. Thanks!

Unified Storage Across Proton Services
I would love to see Proton unify its storage across all services.
Right now, Proton services have separate storage limits in the free plan:
Proton Mail: 500 MB (upgradable to 1 GB through setup tasks)
Proton Drive: up to 5 GB (after completing setup or boost tasks)
For paid plans, Proton already provides shared storage between Mail and Drive, but not for the free tier.
It would be great if free users could also have a single shared storage pool, for example 5 GB total across Mail, Drive, Calendar, and other Proton services, instead of isolated limits for each.

Filter option for sharing a calendar with a link
When sharing a calendar with a link, the full calendar is exported. It would be relevant to limit the events shared through this link.
At least, to share only future events (keeping old events private). Or having the possibility to filter the shared vents by date.

Provide a better way to manage events in the evening
I often find myself planning events in the evening, which I usually set to end at midnight. There are 2 pain points in this process. First, to set it properly at midnight I need to also change the date. So I end up with more actions to take. The second is that changing the start time back, moves the end time to the next day. And I frequently set an initial early time before the actual time is confirmed. Overall this means I have to use double the actions to set evening events.
My suggestion is to add a way to specify that an event should end at midnight, in a way where it would keep the end time at midnight if you change the start time. Visual distinction can be nice but as far as I'm concerned optional.

Improve Insert Image Options - Allow Insertion of GIF Pixels
I'd like to use Umami Analytics' new Pixels feature to generate small images that can be embeded in our emails to track when they're viewed. However, using Proton Mail's "Insert image" option it gives me an error "Not a valid URL". Which I'm not sure if it has to do with the type of image Umami generates (a GIF) or if it's due to the URL missing a file extension.
For reference, you can inspect the Pixel here and see for yourself how Umami implements the image: https://cloud.umami.is/p/1i49B6ecn

automatic download of emails
Automatic download of emails. It is very frustrating when a notification for a new email is displayed, that the email is not yet downloaded. Szenario: You have the smartphone in your hand. You get a notification for a new email, you "click" it, the email app opens, and then, and only then, it begins to download the email. Wasted time.

Move emails by Number of Days
When you create or edit a filter. Have an option to either move the last say 30 days of mail to a new folder, or even the last years worth of emails from where they are to the new location. This option could be configurable.

Flag emojis should show as emojis, not their text-based counterpart
When flag emojis (like 🇺🇸 and 🇸🇰) aren't shown as emojis in email titles; I think it'd be nice if they were.

Password protect Proton Mail for Linux
Beta 1.10.1 (5.0.87.5)
Ability to protect the Proton Mail for Linux client with a password like it is for Proton Authenticator.
I don't mention Proton Pass because the extra password there is synced between devices as a second authentication factor, while Proton Authenticator on linux has the option to setup an optional local password to lock the app without affecting other devices.

In "More search options" allow me to group by senders (or other properties)
As a user I would like to group all my emails by sender. This would allow me to bulk delete all emails of senders that are white-noise.
As an example right now if I want to clear up storage space I search by "@steam.com", this retrieves a list of all emails I have gotten from a sender @steam.com and delete those.
I would like to get an overview of all my emails, grouped by sender without specifying a sender. This would allow me to get an overview of other white-noise senders, unsubscribe from e.g. newsletters and clear up my storage from other white-noise senders more easily.

Support .heic photo attachments in mail—“attached” .heic photos show in my drafts/sent emails, but recipients tell me they haven’t received.
Notes/tl;dr-ish :
Please note that as far as I can find: .heic = now the standard image file extension for any images taken via an apple device’s camera)
** Additional note: proton mail users do not seem to receive any error codes to tell them that these attachments were never sent.
***Please bear with me: I have tried to put all tl;dr info in the title & notes (above), but I struggle to write succinctly. I do believe this to be an issue that may affect any people that attach photos to their emails that were taken by an iphone/ipad.
Based from a comment I made on a laterally related post about .heic preview within proton mail (where other commenters mentioned that .heic photos aren’t recognised or displayed as photos within Proton Drive.
I am making a seperate post rather than just leaving my comment on the original post, as I believe that post was a different enough request to the issue that I have been experiencing, as well as that post being from May 2024.
This is also an issue that I believe proton mail users may not be notified via the app, that their recipients have not received the attached images. This is something I have figured out only after receiving replies back from email recipients that the/some attachments I have referred to were not sent to them.
Please see the link to the previous post here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48426479--heic
My comment:
WAIT—I trawled through this forum to try to find if anyone else was having a similar ongoing issue to me, as an ios & ipadOS app user.
might THIS be the reason why whenever I attach photos I’ve taken on my iphone to an email on the proton app (via: import from photo library), I will say “please see attached” and although I can see the attached photos, the receiver gets back to me saying that there were no attachments??!?!?
My workaround this year has been uploading photos from my camera roll to the ios files app, and then trying to attach via importing from files.
But I didn’t realise that any photos that I’ve been doing this with (taken from an iphone, where .heic seems to have been default for a while), over the past ~1 year may have not ever been received by any of the email’s recipients!!!!
I really wish that proton could officially clarify what the deal is with .heic file compatibility is, both on proton mail (app & and web), and any of the other proton services (from what I can gather from the comments section).
This means that I can at least know that any .heic photo attachments should go through a .jpg converter first in the meantime, and that I don’t need to worry about .jpg, .jpeg, .png photo file formats not being sent through the ios photo library import, via proton mail app.
I have literally been creating new google drive shared folders (google bleh) to send a link to email recipients out of fear that the photos may have disappeared from the attachments without me having any clue……that and avoiding sending images over proton mail on apple apps, exporting from my photo library to my phone’s files, and other convoluted ways to try troubleshoot, since at least a year ago now.
Can proton PLEASE provide some clarity so we can find workarounds if it’s not actionable, or if there will be a delay in adding .heic compatibility, which would be very understandable! I just wanna know what is sending/what disappears :”(

Option to manually grey-out colour - not just happen automatically once the date has passed
Sometimes I don't complete an event when it's scheduled and I need to be able to see when this has occurred.
In google calendar I would only grey-out the event once it was done - bright colours in the past are a warning signal!
If events are grey-out automatically once the day ends I am liable to miss important things.3 votes -
Add REMINDER tool to work with Calendar - like Samsung Reminder & Google Task
I use Proton Calendar as my Calendar on laptop and Samsung phone. I read article praising the Samsung REMINDER app and how it works in coordination/integrated with Samsung's calendar - similar to how Google Tasks works with their calendar. I use Samsung's CLOCK app for reminders, but it is not a great tool for that purpose. Proton has been making very good tools that are included with my DUO/FAMILY package and I would love if you could add this to your portfolio.
Article describes this "https://www.howtogeek.com/samsung-has-a-google-tasks-rival-and-its-my-favorite-to-do-app/?utm_source=HTG-NL&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=HTG-202511100645&user=amZhem55dHJpYWxAcHJvdG9uLm1l&lctg=b5b5ba25038d731f0c366f7e34f494a9f9400e3980a2403c7aee6d19de31e181".1 vote
