A Proper ProtonVPN Linux Client With GUI
I would love to see a proper ProtonVPN Linux Client with GUI that looks similar to the Windows version and with the same features. The current Linux client does not look good and it's too much and not plain and simple like with the Windows version. Is there anyone else that are not happy with the current client and want a better one?

It would be nice to re-write ProtonVPN Linux app with Qt Framework. Qt software is more stable and looks much better on all distributions. It's best crossplatform framework.

Hi! I like the ProtonVPN GUI app on Linux. It has so many good features.
But I think that the choice of GTK was a mistake. This framework is just one large piece of garbage - from both points of view - devs and user experience.
1. Most serious, quality and useful apps for Linux (about 90%) are uses Qt Framework.
2. GTK is unpopular. Every year more and more existing Linux software are rewritten with Qt Framework. It's stable and gives better look'n'feel experience.
3. GTK development is chaotic. The developers themselves don't know what they want. It looks like that GTK project is one endless sandbox for their crazy experiments... But they never lead to anything good. With each release they change the framework, removing, breaking or constantly changing the necessary features.
Qt is just best crossplatform framework. Simple to learn and easy to use. If you create serious, quality and stable software for Linux, the best choice is Qt. It's simple. So please, re-build Proton app with Qt. It's not difficult. Your app will look, feel and work much better in all distributions.

We have the GUI -- but it would be nice if it was more feature rich

ProtonVPN gui and cli can be installed on various operating systems running on different arm devices. It seems that Debian-based OSes like Raspberry Pi OS and Mobian cannot properly use either tool. The connection fails and ultimately you are unable to access the internet. In order to correct this you need to run:
sudo nmcli connection delete pvpn-ipv6leak-protection
as suggested here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1319033/internet-stops-working-after-installing-protonvpn.
It would be nice to see more devices/oses supported. Until then when the connection fails at least it should clear any connection leftovers automatically.

It's very cumbersome to use (command line only) with Manjaro KDE and I also feel like I'm not getting what I'm paying for. A nice GUI would be great. The previous one worked fine, but got a new computer and now this: https://github.com/ProtonVPN/linux-gui - why remove the old one before the new one is ready?

yes, agree. especially on those linux distros, which are not ubuntu-based. anywhere, where mcrsft enters becomes vulnerable and messy, chaotic.

The app really needs better integration and support on different flavors of Linux. Now, since WireGuard is part of the kernel, it can be heavily utilized.

I paid for ProtonVPN many months ago but can't use it with Linux Mint.
No killswitch, no graphical user interface (GUI ).
I paid close to $100 (Canadian) but didn't use it so far.
IIt would be great if it was as convenient for Linux as "Private Internet Access" (PIA) is :
