Detect when a server has high latency or slow speed and automatically change servers
Sometimes my connection speed seems to become very slow. I often disconnect and reconnect to re-establish a decent connection speed. It would useful if profiles allowed for an option to automatically change servers when high latency or slow speed is detected.
The option could select to reconnect to the best server in the same country or region or globally - based on a function of latency and speed.

Yes, this is needed urgently. I am really surprised it hasn’t had more support. When Proton VPN is configured on a router, an overloaded server can slow all traffic to a crawl.
Right now, that often means signing in as the router admin to disable the VPN until the load drops, or manually switching to a different server. Please add an option for the VPN to auto‑switch when high latency or low speeds are detected - ideally from a user‑defined, pre‑populated list, so connections remain fast and stable.

It could even be a right click option on the taskbar icon, at least on Windows.
I hit a site that will not load almost every day so being able to quickly change servers would be very appreciated.

Is it possible to have a VPN Server 'hop' button that with a single click:
1) pauses any active sessions to prevent any bleeding while disconnecting from current server
2) disconnects from existing server
3) reconnects to a different server from the one just disconnected fromWhy do I want this? There are lots of reasons someone may need to hop to another server (troubleshooting network or server issues, accessing a website that doesn't like where traffic is coming from, etc.). It's something I find myself doing frequently, but if I just hit the disconnect button and then reconnect, it often reconnects me to the same server I was just on which forces me to open the app and manually select a different server (a lot of wasted time and clicks). I would love to have an easily accessible button that would allow me to hop to another server with a single click.

Proton VPNs are frequently blocked on some websites so a quick reconnect button would make that less annoying.
Plus, I don't know why, but Bluesky stops loading content after some a while when using VPN until I change the server.

Automatic reconnection is not a good idea for me because it involves changing the IP while browsing, which can be detected as malicious on certain sites and cut the game.
On the other hand, a notification that offers a server change to the user seems like an excellent idea to me! -

I don't know how this hasn't got more votes. For me it's a critical option.
To reconnect I have to either mess about going through country options or I have to disconnect and reconnect.
One simple 'refresh' button would be great.

Occasionally I have a slow connection to the "optimal" server or the quality of the connection changes overtime. I would love a single click button to connect to the next best server and not automatically reconnect to the one I was just connected to like it does when I manually cycle it.
