Automatic login on the ProtonVPN Linux client
Currently, the ProntonVPN Linux client requires manual login each time. This is really tedious, particularly if the password is very complex. It would be much better if it were possible to log in automatically. This, in particular, is a requirement for automatically starting the VPN client after each reboot.

Real-Time VPN Connection Security and Data Privacy Verification
It would be useful if ProtonVPN could indicate in real time whether the VPN connection is truly active or has been disconnected.
It is important that any data traffic generated during the connection (such as DNS queries, IP addresses, and visited websites) is genuinely not logged or is securely deleted in real time.
It would be helpful if all of this could be verifiably confirmed in real time, so that users can be confident about their data security.

Fastest Server Priority Settings — Primary & Fallback Location Configuration
Summary
Add a "Fastest Server Priority" setting across all Proton VPN apps (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) that lets users pin a Primary and a Fallback country to the Fastest Server connection mode — so speed-optimized connections still respect geographic preference.Proposed Behavior
When Fastest Server is active, Proton VPN resolves the connection in this order:A. Primary — Connect to the fastest available server in the user's preferred country (e.g., Philippines).

vB. Fallback — If the Primary country is fully unavailable due to maintenance or an outage, automatically switch to the Fallback country (e.g., Singapore) without…

Implement Rolling/Tiered Server Maintenance to Avoid Complete Country-Wide Outages
During routine maintenance cycles, I've noticed that all servers within a given country are occasionally taken offline simultaneously — occurring roughly every 2–3 months.
This forces users to reroute through servers in neighboring countries, which often serve different regional content, languages, and geo-restricted services. The result is a noticeably degraded browsing experience that undermines the core value of a VPN.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce a rolling or tiered maintenance schedule that keeps a minimum percentage of servers online at all times within each country cluster. For example:- Tier 1 (Active): A baseline set of servers remains fully operational during any maintenance…

ProtonVPN is not reliable enough to be "Always On"
On MacOS (and to a lesser degree iOS) there are times when ProtonVPN just stops working, often for many minutes. However, at least on the Mac (Sonoma 14.5, and don't make me use Liquid Glass), when ProtonVPN fails, it still keeps trying to turn itself back on. The result is that the Internet doesn't work at all. This is frustrating on deadline. There have been times when the only way for me to get the Internet back is by uninstalling ProtonVPN and rebooting. Obviously nobody wants that. It's especially frustrating in a time crunch.
Give me a "Emergency Off" button…

Add ProtonVPN to the macOS App Store
I'd like the ProtonVPN app to be available on the macOS App Store. The app store enforces the App Sandbox and handles autoupdates for all my apps, so it's very convenient for me. ProtonVPN is already available on iOS so the macOS version shouldn't be too difficult.

could we perhaps get a client without systemd on linux?
Pretty please? I just want to connect from my systemd-less distros and I will need to just switch to another VPN if I am unable to do that for well, obvious reasons.

Microsoft Edge for Android Extension
Microsoft Edge on Android now supports browser extensions, yet the number of available VPN extensions is extremely limited. At the moment, only a few providers such as AdGuard, Browsec, and NordVPN are present in the Edge Add-ons store.
Although ProtonVPN already offers an Android application, it establishes a system-wide VPN connection. Many users would prefer a browser-only VPN option that routes traffic only from the browser without affecting the entire operating system. A ProtonVPN extension for Microsoft Edge on Android would address this need, offering a lightweight, flexible, and privacy-focused browsing solution while expanding ProtonVPN’s presence on mobile platforms.3 votes -
Proton as an Internet Service Provider
Obviously this is a pie-in-the-sky idea, but with all of the features provided by Proton, it seems that creating an ISP seems like a reasonable (if not far off) step. Of course access would vary by country as Proton would build ISP infrastructure, and I'm not sure if this has any particular benefits vs using a VPN, but just an idea.

Add options to exclude one's own country from autoconnect in Android TV
On Android TV you can select a favourite country and it should have priority over everything. Apparently this does not work when adding vpn lock through adb. The system calls the Proton VPN app on Android TV and the app autoconnects to the fastest server which, in my case, it's always in my country.
This is not good and, for many, could even be unsafe.

Apple tv NetShield support
The apple TV app needs NetShield Ad-blocker support. Without this its almost useless as it is now. I really should match feature parity with the Ipad version at the minimum but NetShield would at least make it usable.

Notification if not connected
User sets the time to get notified if they're disconnected for longer than x period.
For users on iOS/android who may temporarily switch off the VPN and forget to toggle it back on, it would be great to have a notification based on a users preference (if not connected for x minutes, notify the user to say they're not connected)

show the connected server on the tray if it is one of the pinned ones.
If the VPN is connected to a pinned tray connection, reflect it on the tray dropdown window with a mark next to the connected server (Linux client).

Add VPN auto connect and block if not connected features
I have been using NordVPN on my FireStick and hoped to replace it with ProtonVPN however it is missing a few essential feature to make it useable.
I want my VPN to immediately connect on Startup and remain connected all the time. ProtonVPN on FireStick does not have autoconnection settings and doesn't prevent connection until (and only when) a VPN connection is made.
It is also missing the options to specify my own DNS servers.
Manually connecting each time and loosing VPN connection unknowingly is not acceptable, these are the reasons we want to use a VPN.
Thanks!
