Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

People use Google drive, Dropbox or other cloud services to store their data. It would be great to have ProtonMail not only for mail but also for storing data safely in the cloud. I don't see the difference between regular files and emails so for me and lots of people/companies it would make sense to have both under the same umbrella

Hello
I am new to ProntonMail, and I have opened this mail account to get away from Google services. However, I always found having mail, calendar and drive all together very handy.
I would like to see a similar service with Proton. It so handy having access to all your tools in one place.

I'd love this, specially if it is something decentralized like storj.io. It would be cheaper to mantain, equally as private and nice for everybody. Keep going team protonmail!!

This would be great as I wouldn't have to rely on any other service anymore.
A complete Proton suite of E-mail, Contacts, Calendars and Cloud (with the secure environment we came here for) would be absolutely fantastic. -

That would be great to be able to edit collaboratively some document and to share them with security. Content management and project management would be great too.

I completely agree. This is what I truly need in addition to secure email. While I would love for this to be included in the basic package, I would happily pay for a service like this. Maybe inclusion in the Plus package to cover initial costs of development and support? I'd support a Kickstarter/Indie Gogo campaign as well.

Spideroak. It was even recommended by snowden (2013 or so?)

i use spideroak. it was recommended by snowden years ago and works fine for sync. it´s also zero-knowledge.
honestly i would it more to see the protonmailteam collaborate with spideroak than creating their own thing... you can´t build the best of every solution, just get someone who is already doing it fine and work with them. :P

Hello, any update on this feature?
Thanks!

This a thousand times over! Email is a tremendous step forward for security. But it only facilitates the secure flow of information. Which for a vast majority involves documents (Pdfs, Word, Spreadsheets, etc). Being able to interact with this and send them securely would help the minimalist transition from Google. Obviously, having a mobile app as well. This function needs the love and would really help protonmail grow from individual users and business.
