Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

Allow for users who have access to a folder or documents on drive to edit real time and share with other users. Same functionality as google sheets.
Example: Update a timeline(Gantt chart) .XLS in Proton Drive and it updates for everyone else with a notification that there has been changes.

Feature with much usability!
Would be great to have a doc/exl-like files preview and editing option (espacially for paying users)

Coming late to the party here, but agree with most below. UI extensions for Windows Explorer, Dolphin on Linux etc would make Drive a no brainer, plus the ability to share with team members (like Dropbox, One Drive etc) would be cream on the cake.

This is a neccesity to make it a user friendly service where you can actively work with your data. It would also be nice if the Mobile app would allow you to back up photos.

Integrating Office or similar into Protondrive. I'd for example love the idea of editing word and excel files without having to download, edit, then re-upload.

Also... there seems to be a problem with downloading pictures uploaded from my phone in that when I try to then bulk download them from Drive to my PC I have to rename each file as a .jpg before my PC can open them. Don't know what that is about or if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

This is a must have development for me without a doubt. There is much debate on here about devs for Proton but the key ones for me are
Edit docs direct in cloud
Develop the calendar so that the task view can act as a 'to-do' list with being able to mark items as done so that I don't have to use another supplier who I don't trust.
Introduce a password manager. I know there are competing products and I have looked at them but I don't really trust them as there are too many tick boxes saying I have to allow them to track web history etc. This would seem to be an integral fit with Proton's offering of a private web and avoiding hacks and scams etc. too. Suggestions for the best one to use in the meantime though would be greatly appreciated.
I previously thought that a secure browser too was a good idea but frankly firefox does this really well already and it seems a big thing to introduce when there are other features and developments which are more important.
Overall though, Proton must grow and expand its product suite otherwise other organisations will overtake...
Beyond all this there are many other options and ideas but they need to come later. -

I agree! Accessing and working on documents dircetly on ProtonDrive from wherever and from different devices would help a lot! Thanks!

I agree this is absolutely necessary for workign online with teams.
There should be an option to:
1) track who is accessing the document
2) to be able to work on the document on the drive where edits are tracked
3) to not allow the document to be downloaded and only viewedThis would be an absolutely game changer as it would provide the most securest working platform.
Please could this be a priority - from a loyal customer of over 4 years.

I would like the same. And would move our small company emails and drive over to proton.
