How about OpenOffice?

For Proton Docs, and possibly sheets and slides, it would be a mess if Proton would bring multiple messy apps.
Instead, a lightweight and offline Office-Suit with basic (or Advanced) document editing features can simply suffice with multiple functions requested by most users.

My only gripe so far with it: It has no formatting what so ever. I would love to see it turn out as a better version of Liber Docs and or Docs. With how Proton does things... ittle defiantly be a lot better.

Proton has started making Proton Docs and that ecosystem which is great but the FOSS world already has the likes of LibreOffice and others. Integrating them into Proton would show Proton cares about FOSS but also gives Proton Users the option to use other open-source software right into Proton's Web UI.
Adding the option to open docs files in a web LibreOffice Editor would be amazing. I think Proton can and should build their own Docs and etc ecosystem but they should also integrate others that are FOSS, ethical and privacy minded.

In order to use Proton Drive with big teams, we should be able to work simultaneously on docs as it happens with Google docs and the Office suite. Can you open Proton Drive to Office editors? Even the web version only would be a great added value compared to the current situation.
I would love to use my Proton Drive more but now the features are too limited for using it in bigger teams.

Similar to Microsoft Office, I think Proton Office would be cool, 1 singular consistent app, multi-platform, with docs, slides, and sheets (possibly different names). Move docs from Drive into Office, and build other Office apps and that would be awesome. And obviously have it integrate mainly with Drive to store the files, and with other Proton apps.

Though Docs is an amazing product to add to the ecosystem, it alone cannot stand up to Google's collaborative ecosystem. With the integration of the full suite of LibreOffice and the online collaboration and end-to-end security of Docs, Proton can actually be a true competitor in this space, with the ability to work on documents, spreadsheets, pdf's, diagrams, and more.

Or libreoffice! Accually nextcloud has such features. So as nextcloud is open source you can just implement it.

Importing the templates from Microsoft Word into Proton Docs would be really useful, I think. Working with the older .doc files too.
