Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

It seems ProtonDrive is only available for people opting in for ProtonVPN. I just paid for ProtonMail Plus and think it should be accessible for ALL paid members. I don't see why people who don't want ProtonVPN should not have access to ProtonDrive! I hope they reconsider.

Just to add to the countless suggestions mentioned and regarding to ProtonDrive, please consider in offering different levels and competitive pricing for storage. For free accounts, 14TB should suffice (and strongly ideal) while paid, business, and enterprise accounts would be 25TB-unlimited. In our case, At the time of typing, I'm part of a small startup business which we started during the pandemic (with no money) and need large amounts of storage space to cater for media clients where we are constantly transferring, storing (both temporary and non-temporary), downloading, and uploading high-bandwidth content (4K-6K) that overlimits any current provider which we tried and unfortunately limit us greatly. We currently haven't gone over the 14TB limit with the resources we have so we're happy about our results but with Proton Drive, it'll help us and other new startup businesses even more...

I would love an edit feature. So basically an equivalent to Google Docs.
I don't want to download and upload everytime I edit a document. You can also build a "Notes App" around this which synchronizes with your ProtonDrive. Would be really nice. Also all this (including Calendar etc.) should be easily accessible for Smartphones.

A few functions are important for me to use ProtonDrive:
1. Sync files automatically from my laptop
2. Share files with others for working together from different locations
3. An IOS app (like ProtonMail) for using my files on the phone -

I second that. Without this feature the full potential of ProtonDrive cannot be utilized.

I agree. Sync apps for the different operating systems are necessary. Please so that individual folders to be synchronized can be selected. For example like TresorIt.

I ad my voice for the possibility to give an external link to a specific file. The perfect way to deliver my work without using other services.

Yes please, support for rclone. Which I use extensively in combination with my current cloud service Jottacloud.

ProtonDrive must feature a sync client, rclone for exemple, or its own, otherwise its usage will be very limited!

Would be beneficial to provide "Replace or Add" function when uploading files since I have to download a file to work on it. Currently, when finished, returning the file to ProtonDrive creates a duplicate file "Filename (1)", so I have to go in and Delete the original and Rename the updated version, deleting the (1) suffix.

1. Already suggested but I would like ProtonDrive to synchronise directly with the Finder in Mac
2. I would like to store attachments in my Protonmail directly to protondrive -

It would be great to have a sync where the desktop 'live' files would automatically sync and update the copies on the ProtonDrive as I use and update my files; for example a spreadsheet or a word document, etc.

I'd like to securely share files from ProtonDrive to external users, and to attach files stored in ProtonDrive to ProtonMail emails without first having to download them from ProtonDrive.

An idea to improve the ProtonDrive load box
When loading many files, it would be nice to have 2 buttons:
- Delete completed
- Retry failure
Because having to click 700 times on the retry button on failed files distributed in several thousand files is annoying and very long.
