Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.

Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

I currently save some key documents as email attachments which I sent to myself. This is a bit clumsy, especially with ProtonMail's rather weak Folder/Labels archiving features (I refer e.g. the current unavailability of sub-folders/Labels).
A dropbox-like encrypted service would be awsome.
Emails and documents go hand in hand. it would be great to host them under the same secured roof together with calendaring and contacts info.
What you have delivered so far in a rather short period of time is truly great ... but your outstanding achievements have whet our appetites for many additional features!
I foresee that, in a few years, ProtonBundle [whatever name you give to your bundled services] will be one of the most sought-after cloud service on the net.
With deep thanks.

It would be a very nice feature, and imho really an addition to the premium account.

Gaw that would be cool. If that ever happens then i think it should be based on Nextcloud. If it does not materialize i'm fine running my own private Nextcloud instance.

Symmetrically encrypted emails to non-proton users expire. After the expiration, I will not be able to reference the content of those emails.
I need to be able to use an API to fetch and store these emails into my own cryptsetup encrypted drive so that I can still reference the emails in the future while keeping them air-gapped and secure.

P.s We also need a Open Source End to End Internet Bookmarks just like pocket so we can save our websites privately super important and then make everything work together with the proton mail, proton storage and internet bookmarks including the productivity and alert tools!

Open Source End to End Cloud Storage just like Google Drive. Also Calender's and Reminders including Productivity and Organization Tools like Google Mail but with unlimited band-with and other privacy and security tools. I would pay 20 a month for that.

I vote to only focus on email.

I'm in the middle of moving away from Google (gmail/gdrive) and this is what I miss.
Perhaps they could add this as an option for paid members. And if they do, they might as well look at a 'price for lifetime'.

Cloud document storage would be awesome! Please look at introducing this for paid customers like me :)

This would be so great. I don't want to store my files with any of the big guys. But I would trust ProtonMail.

Can you offer us a cloud-storage like hotmail (onedrive) does?

If you guys are going into a storage solution, you gotta have two priorities that many other solutions have missed, in order to make it viable and compete Dropbox.
1- Selective Sync
2- Sync blocks that have changed, so bandwidth is saved instead of having to reupload the whole file. Also resuming sync for partially uploaded files for those with limited upload speeds.Plus ofc encryption and a beautiful mobile app

I was looking for a option where I wanted to have my little privacy with my mails and contacts and Proton Mail is providing me my own privacy .
My only suggestion is that why do we need to go to google play store to download proton application from there ? why not direct from Proton website so that we are not force to create gmail account

I subscribed to a lifetime account and was expecting to be able to use the 20Gb as I wanted. Like to be able to store important documents, family pictures, etc... in a safe place, forever.
I believe that to see it happen, we have to support and promote ProtonMail to make it grow!

I'm surprised they havent started on this as a side project or something. I mean it only makes sense.
Then again stick to a top shelf email system and doing it well rather then doing a few diff products that may or may not have problems as some have mentioned below as well.
Either way thank you for your hard work protonmail. -

It would be nice if the Proton folks could buy in heavy into Owncloud and offer a hosted Owncloud option that ties in with Protonmail. I would pay extra for this at a rate of 150% what Google charges for space, if not 200%.
