Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.

Please Proton, you guys are fighting the good fight but a fella needs to have file manager syncing. As much as I hate to admit it; Microsoft has a VERY good template for how to handle it. That kind of integration with Nautilus and Dolphin would be next level.

Need drive sync for Linux, please.

Syncing is really really critical. An app would be very helpful but without syncing its just storage and not really useful. As an example i can't actually store my writing on Proton Drive because it has to sync with my writing app. It needs a location and a url doesn't cut it.

At the very least, a way to SFTP files up. Some way to Cloud Sync up is a must-have. Ideally, in a way for something like Synology or TrueNAS cloud sync processes to send files automatically.

I would definitely stop using googledocs if you can provide me with an alternative.

Yeah, it's not usable until there's a desktop sync app. This is critical.
After that, having android and iOS apps will make it very convenient. This is important.
As an example use case; if I can take a photo or screenshot on my phone while I'm out, go home and boot up my computer and see that it's already in the proper folder, we're working.
Another example use case; if I can write a resume or similar important document on my computer, shut it down without manually doing anything else, go out, I see a sign somewhere that says they're hiring, I can pull out my phone, go to the most recent version of my resume, and send it to them via email or however they want it.

Yes, this is quite a basic feature for such a service. Today I suggested using Ace editor,
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/45762946-ace-ajax-org-cloud9-editor-support
since I suppose it would be possible to integrate a browser based editor into Proton Drive. Just as Google Drive can use "Text Editor" to edit text files. -

I write transgressive fiction which coiuld be considered illegal in my country and Google has a habit of scanning documents and sending them to law enforcement so I've had to completely remove all of my writing off Google Drive/Docs and would like a solution that isn't Microsoft to be able to edit my documents that I can do across computers rather than having a hard file sitting on my hard drive that I have to manually transfer between devices
Would be very helpful to help de-Google if a doc editor was in scope

Unless there's a desktop sync app Proton Drive is a no-go to me. I've been a Visionary user since it's inception and have tried moving Gigabytes of files from OneDrive to Proton Drive using the web interface. The slow upload speeds limited by Proton Drive and slow file check process after upload makes this impossible to use for me. Need a desktop sync app. I would not have released this out of beta without it.

Dear Proton Team,
Your Proton Drive product looked appealing until I saw there is no sync client. In my use case it is completely useless.I need to be able to manage files from my file explorer, command line of any OS I'm using (Windows, Linux, MAC).
A great service with a poor usability. That's so sad !

Hi, same for me, with a sync app, I could break away from providers like Google or Swisscom.
I trust more Proton teams than the other, so it would be a chance to get a sync app for Proton Cloud. Without this option, I don't really need all this space.
Thank you! -

Without a way of syncing files to my drive, it's useless. I'd use it as a Dropbox replacement.

Implementing an OnlyOffice server (open source) would jump-start you in this space.

Please Proton Team :
I also need synchronisation for Windows, Linux, MacOS and Android (don't care about Iphone). For the moment I'll stay with Dropbox and I don't want to !
Thank you very much !!! -

I want to auto-synch from any Android and Apple device, particularly photos.
The ONLY reason I still use Google is because I can synch my photos from my Android phone, and the tools is Google Photos are good. -

It would be really great, if I have the ability to Create & Edit files within Proton Drive space without needing any external tools.
Features similar to Google Drive/One Drive to manage the entire Office suite, Event if the Libre Office could be accessible within Drive, that would be really great!
Or to the least ability to manage below file types,
- Text File (Not just .txt file, But all text viewer supported files like no file type, .md, .csv, .html, .py, .sh, etc.)
- Word File
- Excel/Spreadsheet FilesWith this, Data privacy would be by design for files, Not just on storage, But while Creation & Editing as well in a secured space

The ONLY reason I still use Google is because the convenience of syncing my desktop with Google drive. It's nice to have all your files updated- no matter which machine you are on.

Not to mention that downloading the document every time one wants to edit it means it could easily be harvested or compromised if one forgets to delete it from the physical device they are editing it on. A system similar to Google Keep, which is sort of a "virtual sticky note editor" would be ideal because the document would never reside on the physical device.
