Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Proton now has Docs:

And Sheets:

Please add API, how much more do I have to ask you? Very much needed API, to automate the unloading of reserial copies.

The ONLY reason I still use Google is because the convenience of syncing my desktop with Google drive. It's nice to have all your files updated- no matter which machine you are on.

Not to mention that downloading the document every time one wants to edit it means it could easily be harvested or compromised if one forgets to delete it from the physical device they are editing it on. A system similar to Google Keep, which is sort of a "virtual sticky note editor" would be ideal because the document would never reside on the physical device.

I hate the idea of having to download a file in order to either look at it or do a simple edit of it. That is because I would probably forget to upload it again and it would sit on my device available to anyone who might hack it or steal it. A capability similar to Google Keep which uses virtual "sticky notes" for simple text items would be perfect, especially if they could be edited directly on the device and not downloaded.

If ProtonDocs was a thing (Word processing and spreadsheets at least) I could finally completely dump google.

I would like this too. I think to help make the request less daunting (I.E. an entrie Proton Office suite) I'd like to add to this in suggesting that this functionality work with 3rd party office suites (for example OnlyOffice). That's assuming doing so doesn't break the privacy of the documents or meet a level of acceptable privacy/logging.

Let us be tolerant and expect the sync client to be created for all operating systems like also Richard mentioned on his last post.
Besides, macOS has taken FreeBSD as one basis of its system. So, in addition of GNU/Linux, macOS, MS Windows, iOS, Android, there is also BSD. If we have already client for macOS, then it would be easy to port it also to BSD.
Therefore there would be good to have more universal binary, that we can run in UNIX-like systems, MS Windows and smart devices, which have UNIX-like systems but on ARM-architecture. Actually also Apple is using ARM on new hardware but X86_64 on older hardware. So, finding universal binary format would be crucial to avoid building for different distros separately. -

This post is nearly two years old - what is the status of getting a desktop sync app for Mac OS?

+1 !!
I know that many people would love to see some kind of Google Docs solution. Having Proton create its own suite might be too much to ask for now, but I think it wouldn't be hard for now to just integrate Proton Drive to the options already given by ONLYOFFICE cloud.
Many of us are just trying to deGoogle or deMicrosoft, and a collaboration office suite is almost a must. It's not very convenient to have to download a file, work on it, and then have to reupload it. It's the only reason I am still keeping my Google account.

Don't limit it to IOS. We need it for Linux, Windows, Linux, Android, Linux, and Mac. And don't forget Linux.

File sync for Windows / Mac / Linux is top priority
Basic notes app (to replace Word/Docs would be second)
If you create an integrated Sheets/Excel option, you would be the only and best option for a cloud based encrypted alternative to Google/Microsoft. -

+1 I just came to this page because I was looking for that. Online editable documents should be standard nowadays!

1. is critical
2. files/folders read/write or read only sharing is important
3. android app (without google layers), distributed in F-droid for example, is of interest. -

@George - do you really care only about yourself? What about Linux users? Did you forgot them? Certainly we need OS support, what people use: GNU/Linux different distros (e.g. AppImage), macOS both x86_64 and ARM64 CPUs, MS Windows - all OSes with autostart in system tray and automatic update features.
Android (including *.apk available without Google Play and Google account, e.g. via F-droid), iOS (also *.ipa available without AppStore and Apple account, some alternatives are https://alternativeto.net/software/app-store/?platform=iphone - kind of free and open-source like F-droid would be appreciated). -
