I subscribed to a family plan. But without being able to share a folder with other users, the usefulness of ProtonDrive is very constrained.

I ended up signing up to OneDrive, that allows easy sharing of a folder (read/write), easy access from multiple devices (windows, android, web), and ended up being super reliable and fast. If ProtonDrive can match the sharing and reliability capability, with the added native encryption, it can become a superior product.

This is a fundamental feature that is a serious problem for anyone who wants to use Proton as company solution for sharing files that are common assets of a team. It's super inconvenient to have to share individual folders with all users, who will just not be able to access them in the Proton Drive folder. Generally speaking Proton scores ultra-low when it comes to team collaboration, I am sorry to say, and that should also be understood as a serious deficit in admin functions to manage users, teams and groups of users.

We signed up to Proton thinking this had this feature. Bit disappointed to find out it doesn't yet.

To be honest, I'm curious what the current state of this feature request is, since it's pretty silent as it looks. For me/ us / the family this is a mandatory function to start using (and to switch over) Proton Drive. At the moment we are using our own Nextcloud instance. I'm definitely willing to give up a lot of features we are using now, but not be able to collaborate together on files and documents is not a option. We would go back to the stone age, sending urls or transfering documents by e-mail or USB sticks to work together.

With regard to privacy and a secure way of collaborating or sharing documents it looks top me that this would not only be mandatory, but pretty legit to add this kind of feature to Proton Drive.

What S3tv2 said... The family or business plans don't make much sense without this feature. I was taking this as a granted and I was very disappointed to discover that the family plan doesn't allow you to share a folder with the other members and manage access permissions. The share links aren't a real alternative to this.

Would be nice, a 'shared with you' would be most convenient. Not just for family or org though, friends/family who do not want a shared payment system should still have the ability the share/edit/view files/folders with one another from within their individual proton drive environment.
