I think it's essential that Linux clients, like Windows and MacOS, also benefit from natively synchronized protondrive access.
Please make this a priority 1 in your developments!

I really want to get the proton drive but without a linux client it's literally useless for me. I need to sync files directly from my laptop to the drive and not manually upload from the browser. That's why I'm currently at another provider.

Was about to take out a Proton Unlimited subscription but this is no good to me without a Linux client for drive.

I currently use infomaniak instead, waiting for Proton to release a version for ubuntu or equivalent.
As Proton become more and more successfull, Linux is less and less considered, disapointing !

As a premium subscriber, I cannot emphasize enough how vital it is that Proton Drive gets a Linux client. It's necessary for my workflow. A large proportion of your paying customers are privacy conscious and use operating systems like Linux. Please extend an olive branch for these users with no less than 14 pages of comments supporting this move.

You have a Windows client and a Mac clienet. Please add a Linux client. I know Google has ignored Linux users, but you're better than Google. Please add a linux client.

New Proton unlimited member here; desperately waiting for a Linux client, preferably AppImage so its compatible with every linux install. Not sure why windows is given better support overall than linux since this is supposed to be a privacy-conscious company.

Just want to point out that any linux client *needs* to have a (preferably lightweight) CLI option without requiring any kind of desktop client to be installed. Otherwise it's useless for syncing with servers or from docker images.

After login/acquiring tokens there's only like a 3 or 4 step process from "initiate upload" to "send file blocks", I don't see why this couldn't be a shell script with curl. Maybe there's something I'm missing, havent actually tried, but maybe as a stopgap the dev team could create this (with disclaimers as needed).

I am fully paid into the Proton infrastructure and also request that a Linux client can be made available. Syncing files is really important for backup and connectivity purposes. Otherwise keep up the good work.

It's a shame that Proton publicized the MacOS client's launch with the phrasing that Proton Drive is available for "all major platforms" when it is not available for Linux. Even if you put forward an argument that Linux is not as popular as Mac for a client OS (and there are sometimes stats indicating that is not true), enough people use Linux systems that it is impossible and misleading to claim it is not a major platform. As a paying customer that uses primarily Linux systems, I hope they will hurry up and provide equal support for this major platform.

Mac client is available, the Linux one should follow. Keep fingers crossed...

Hey you really need to release a linux version. For someone of my means, proton is expensive. You make great apps for all your devices in my opinion. but the decision to focus on preferential development spend instead of ensuring that your product can be used anywhere is saddening. Put in some money and overtime and give us something. Also, Mac as well. Jeez

Windows is a privacy nightmare. Forcing people to use Windows to sync with Proton Drive is against the mission of the company. Please support free software and Linux. I see many companies now providing an AppImage (even tax software these days) enabling people to stay safe on Linux. Snap or Flatpack are great options as well. I am a paying customer and I would love to be able to use drive on Linux. Otherwise, it's quite useless to me.

I don't need a desktop client. I would be already very happy with a CLI tool to just sync a directory.
