Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Honestly the best reason to do this is because proton would then become the preferred client for basically all linux users. It makes good business sense for Proton to create a linux client. Most of us ended up with proton because we were sick of microsoft and google...and to some degree apple invading privacy.

This needs to be in place, i use proton for almost everything now, but i can't pay monthly until i can save my work files on my main Linux pc.

I guess we need to wait for the linux vpn app gets done so that linux os team goes to work on the linux drive app I hope. So maybe for 2048? or 2768? who knows
We request Features Parity!!!!!!!!! -

Must be able to sync to my Linux machines. No use to sign up before this is in place.

The possibility to use gnome accounts and have acces to proton drive and calendar (like for a google account) would be perfect.
Or a linux desktop app for proton drive using flatpak or appimage.
I tryed to install the windows app with bottle and it failed. -

- Because it is blocking an upgrade to a family plan
- Because it is blocking an upgrade to a family plan
- Because syncing Proton suite with a Linux environment makes sense (non-sense with closed OS).
- Because Proton Corporate would find a perfect product/market fit with the Linux niche community.
- Because I find myself doing some DYI with Nextcloud in order to fill the gap (serious time defocus).
- Because I have been waiting too long for this feature... -

Absolutely, Protondrive without Linux client is use less.

Does it really make sense to run a privacy-oriented service on proprietary OSs? In my opinion, no. That's why we need a linux client ASAP.

The absence of a Linux client renders Proton Drive ineffective for my needs.

I want to join the other calls for this app. I desperately want to use proton over other services, but I can't justify the switch unless it can be integrated into my linux desktop and laptop both.

Considering upgrading to the family plan, but with a Linux client for drive sync there is sadly no point.

Completely useless if can't be used for Linux; since Linux support is so unimportant for Proton (by looking to other products evolution) I will probably have to cancel my Visionary subscription to move elsewhere

If I can sync my files from Linux I will upgrade my account and be able to move everything to Proton.
My preferred solution would be RClone which, given that the open source developers just need support in understanding the Proton Drive API and already have a tried, tested and trusted piece of software, shouldn't take much in terms of resources from the Proton Drive team to implement. -

Considered switching to proton drive but no linux client means I'll be sticking with other software.

As much as I would love to use Proton Drive as a replacement for Dropbox, the lack of file sync on my Linux desktop means that I would have to use the browser app, a high barrier to entry relative to other applications. As a customer of ProtonMail, what an ideal solution it would be, and I would likely even pay for a higher tier of service if Proton Drive were available with a desktop client compatible with my machine.

This is really making Drive unusable for me, likely to cancel out soon if this isn't addressed.
