An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedIt's incredible. This should be a critical core requirement. It's necessary to enable to move away from Google's hold on the phone. Without this, my main contacts app will continue to be Google's because that's how I can make calls, texts, etc. and that means I neglect updating my Proton contacts, which makes using ProtonMail less convenient than a Google app. Meanwhile, Proton throws out far less useful (but very ethically questionable) features like AI. Proton, we need you to focus on completing the core, basic requirements of your existing apps and features. Instead of letting these core requirements languish for years, please support your clientele properly and JUST GET THEM DONE.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedProton, you're great but it's really hard to understand why this feature hasn't been one of the main priorities? It is ranked very high here and of all these Uservoice fora, this seems like a key strategic issue. It's not just about improving the user experience, this is a multiple-times-per-day need that actively prevents people from fully switching to your services. It maybe doesn't seem as big as some of the other apps that have been launched since this was planned but in some ways it's a more important step to accomplish.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedMore time passes and Proton throws out more apps, which are have little value and are ethically questionable (AI), while neglecting core basics most desired by its userbase. I'm a paying, long-time customer, and a linux client or at least minimal support that enables other people to create linux clients, remains in a state of neglect.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedIt would be really great to get an update on the status of a linux client. I've been paying for quite some time (partially on the premise that eventually a client would be available). Still, about two years since this idea was put up and there's nothing for me to use. It's disappointing that Linux users are treated as an afterthought.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedIt's a shame that Proton publicized the MacOS client's launch with the phrasing that Proton Drive is available for "all major platforms" when it is not available for Linux. Even if you put forward an argument that Linux is not as popular as Mac for a client OS (and there are sometimes stats indicating that is not true), enough people use Linux systems that it is impossible and misleading to claim it is not a major platform. As a paying customer that uses primarily Linux systems, I hope they will hurry up and provide equal support for this major platform.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedI love the way Proton approaches things and have been paying for VPN and mail. I used to pay SpiderOak for their cloud backup service, switched to Mega.io, but I would love to move all my backups to Proton. For me to do that, two things are necessary. 1) a Linux client that will automatically backup files from any directory I choose and synchronize between computers. 2) a reasonable fee for 2 - 5 TB of storage that is competitive with Mega or Jotta.

Today Proton announced the new VPN Stealth mode and wow, once again it's available for every platform except Linux. Linux as an afterthought when Proton ought to be supporting Linux just like the other major platforms. I'm a continually disappointed paying customer in this respect. I may need to stop subscribing.
