MacOS client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Mac OS client for Proton Drive.
Thanks for your feedback and patience, Proton Drive for MacOS is now available!

This should not be a question to ask users actually. A MUST. Just push the PD app forward and make it better than Dropbox (although this one is not so privacy-aware) or Sync.com at least.

not just from Mac...but from windows and linux too!

I have to say it, this is a feature I'd love to have.

Yes, this would be a HUGE improvement. I still use One Drive and Dropbox for most files, because they are easily accessible in my PC File Explorer and I can quickly move files around in the file structure.

Proton Drive.
Please create an automated backup to Proton Drive from Mac.While it's ok to safe single files or folders, it would be convenient to have a Proton Drive Folder on the Desktop that syncs with the Proton Drive. This could then replace the "Back-up and Sync" from Google.

Pete, thanks for mentioning those mature options that already exist, and that ProtonMail will just be duplicating.
Wouldn't it be better to avoid expanding into creating vast mediocre unperfected products? Wouldn't it be better to avoid delaying timelines and perfect what already makes ProtonMail unique and excellent?
+ calendar
+ contacts
+ emailPeople like the idea of one platform to rule them all, but it just isn't realistic. The reason Apple is what it is today, is because they knew how to perfect and focus on a few products. Imagine that level of focus from Protonmail.
One can already find many of the services ProtonMail users are requesting and it would take years for ProtonMail to catch up. Some of these services requested on this site include:
Encrypted Knowledge Cloud Storage: Available with sync.com or pCloud (they have great apps)
Zero Tracking Web Browser: Available with Brave, Firefox, or Tor
Password Manager: Available with 1Password or a multitude of othersWhere do you find a good encrypted calendar? Where do you find reliable encrypted email? Where do you find encrypted contacts? The answer is ProtonMail. These 3 services fit nicely together, are unique, and reinforce the utility of one another.
I hope ProtonMail will make their core gorgeous, and pour their resources and time into them, before moving on. I hope they avoid the customer sirens requesting they do "everything" in the realm of security. People flock to companies that do a few things truly great, not to ones that do a lot of things mediocre.
If you agree, I found a nice feature request to "focus on your core", where your votes would be great. Also, feel free to repost this anywhere people are getting carried away requesting features, or send it to management if anyone knows how. We can help this great company focus on being great instead of getting carried away.

Agreed. There are mature options out there that do this (Sync.com, pCloud come to mind). Having files sync'd to the local file system is quite handy when it comes to using the cloud drive with local apps.

Yep, I'm trying to get away from Google Drive and would like this to be its replacement. Having an Android and Linux app would be great.

Wondering, for a Mac, if it could be a drive in Finder like Dropbox, and on the Menu Bar. Access is key and logging into the Web Portal is cumbersome.

It would be a Good Thing to have a dedicated ProtonDrive App that didn't rely on the web browser to stay secure.
Apps for Android, iOS, Windows, Linux/*nix, & MacOS would eventually be needed of course.

I'd like to have a ProtonDrive App for Mac similar to DropBox where I can sync selected folders and files to my computer to access offline.

Already i'm loving Proton Drive but want to be able to use it from my network folder on my laptop rather than log into a web portal. I also want to be able to access those files from my mobile.
Any plans to be able to sync from laptops?
