MacOS client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Mac OS client for Proton Drive.
Thanks for your feedback and patience, Proton Drive for MacOS is now available!

Proton Drive is essentially useless without the ability to sync to/from the OS filesystem. SMBs (especially technical and creative types who are personas most likely to consider proton) are more likely to use Mac than large enterprises - proton's services are more likely to be purchased by individuals and SMBs than large enterprises. Porting the functionality to Mac is not as big a job as building the functionality for the first time (which you've already done for windows) - hire a developer with knowledge of Mac OS FS for 3 months and it will be done. Get a grip on reality, as these silly product decisions continue to frustrate the hell out of people... I have my personal accounts on a proton visionary plan but I've been trying to move my business from Google to Proton for (literally) several years now, and I just cannot do it because of these types of issues (calendar was another frustration).
Does anyone from Proton actually bother to read this "User Voice" feedback? -

This is so critical for the service to be legitimate. Also it NEEDS a mac version of the app.

I would be nice to use Proton Drive as Network-Storage (CIFS, SMB, WebDav, S3, FTP) using Proton Drive Desktop as local server (with the ability to connect from LAN-Devices)

In order for any application to become successful, it must integrate with the OS for customer experience. The current manual upload via https is not user friendly and the Windows App (I installed Parallels Desktop to overcome the shortfall of the Mac OS client) won't run on ARM processors, leaving us Mac users out in the cold.

This would be great. Sync has this capability with windows and it makes for a workflow that feels efficient and not sluggish. Wish someone would make this work for linux.

bingo. without the desktop app (with streaming option instead of keeping a copy on the computer) the team process will be stalled. must-have solution.

I too am holding back on this. Without a desktop app similar to OneDrive or DropBox, I cannot really use the drive. It is way too much of a pain to download a file, edit it, then upload it back again, manually. Just not worth the effort. So I stick with DropBox.

I would like to use my Drive space to maintain a backup of my hard drive. It seems that the most user friendly way to do this is through a client with syncing at the drive/folder level. I am currently using Amazon, but they are outmoding it and I need a replacement. I don't want to use Google or Microsoft or Apple or DropBox. Please give us another option that is private.

Same for me: this is pretty mandatory functionality to migrate from our current cloud services (OneDrive, Nextcloud self hosted). The lack of this kind of functionality is holding me back to switch to Proton with both my family users, as well as my businesses.

Hmmm.. Unfortunately I found out this way (through UserVoice) that there ain't a MacOS client... To be honest: that came pretty unexpected. I really didn't expect that the drive has this much lack in maturity?! I had made the assumption that it was missing user-friendly, -still pretty mandatory- features like syncing a Photostream or sharing folders with relatives. But missing an desktop client (on which most of the files are altered) is a feature that is not only mandatory: it mainly depends if the product is usefull or not.
I'm really sorry to say, but without a good working desktop client (in this case for MacOs, but it could be nearly every OS), the product will not be successful. Never. Ever.

User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX): Continuously enhancing the UI/UX of Proton can lead to a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. This includes improving navigation, optimizing the layout, and incorporating user feedback to identify pain points and address them.
Performance and Reliability: Prioritizing the optimization of Proton's performance and ensuring high reliability are essential. This involves minimizing loading times, addressing any lag or latency issues, and maintaining a robust infrastructure to handle user demands effectively.
Security and Privacy Enhancements: As privacy is a key feature of ProtonMail, ongoing efforts to strengthen security measures and protect user data are crucial. Regular security audits, implementing the latest encryption standards, and staying ahead of emerging threats can help maintain user trust. Click for More Info https://coursependent.com/

While Proton Drive has been available for over a year, the absence of a dedicated MacOS client hinders users from fully enjoying the benefits of your secure and encrypted storage solution.
Currently, users are required to go online and access Proton Drive through the website, making the process of uploading and downloading files cumbersome and time-consuming. By introducing a dedicated MacOS client, users would be able to seamlessly integrate Proton Drive into their desktop workflow, saving time and enhancing their overall experience.
Additionally, I would like to highlight the issue of limited file format compatibility within Proton Drive. Presently, users are often forced to download files to their local machine in order to view them, instead of having the convenience of viewing them directly within the application. Expanding the compatibility of Proton Drive with various file formats for online viewing would greatly enhance its usability and make it a more versatile and efficient storage solution.
I strongly believe that the introduction of a MacOS client for Proton Drive and improved file format compatibility would significantly elevate the overall user experience. These features would allow users to fully embrace the benefits of secure and private cloud storage without relying on external platforms.
Thank you for considering my feature request. I appreciate your dedication to providing a top-notch service and look forward to witnessing the continual improvement of Proton Drive.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I want to be able to manage Proton Drive files with the same ease I organize files on my computer and network. As I recall, other online storage options allow this.
