Proton Drive VAULT / ARCHIVE area that is cloud only and excluded from all app sync operations.
It would be desirable that a part of your Proton Drive that should only be in the cloud and not visible to the app.
Currently the Windows app syncs everything:
* Everything in the directories that you select is uploaded
* Everything in the "My Files" can be accessed from desktop by cloud stubs that the app creates.
It would desirable to be able to select what you want from Proton Drive storage to be visible to your Win desktop. This could be done several ways:
* The app have a button with the options of syncing/not syncing your Proton Drive "My Files" with your windows desktop.
* Proton Drive to have another storage area like "My Files called "My Vault" which is always ignored by all syncing operations.
This download syncing of "My Files" can be prevented by giving the app a "Proton Drive Folder" that has one file it. The app complains and will not create the cloud stubs on the local Windows desktop, the directory must be empty. The upload syncing of the windows folders to Proton Drive is unaffected.
(cloud stubs same idea as windows cloud files)

Yes. I noticed this when I accidentally deleted a file from my synced area on my laptop. Proton Drive then synced and deleted the file everywhere! I want some area where I can save important archives, where it is harder to delete it, and it is not necessarily synced to a local drive by default.

Absolutely this. Apparently you can create vaulted files by dragging them into the browser specifically, but this is confusing and not intuitive. I'm currently using Sync.com and really want to switch to Proton Drive, but this feature needs to exist more intuitively. With sync, I can just add files to my vault. They can be both synced and backed up (though id have to move them if something updated, and thats fine). I want a way to secure my files in case of drive failure or some other event. currently, if my drive dies, my files die.

I want to upload a lot of photos actually saved on an external SSD drive...
If I copy files in ProtonDrive folder (Mac App), it takes a lot of space on my internal drive.
I would like to set "online only" folders to save my local space.

If I put files in the folder synchronized with proton drive, they still take place on my physical drive. I want them to be only on remote proton drive, but visible in my local drive. For example, to make options in a context menu to download selected files to the physical drive or exclude them from physical drive, but live them remotely
