Synchronize deleting Photos
When deleting a photo from your gallery, it should be removed from Proton Drive Photos as well, and vice versa. It is really inconvenient having to go to both apps to delete photos you've taken. It should still also be possible to free up space on your phone by deleting local copies, maybe through the Drive app.

This would be very helpful, as I often take several photos in case one doesn't turn out well for whatever reason, then go back and delete the extra ones later. Currently I'd have to do that twice, once on the phone itself, and once in Proton Drive. Not the end of the world, but it would be much more convenient if photo deletion was synced.

Photos is meant to be a backup service, not a sync service. So if you delete something from your phone accidentally, you have a backup in place.
However, it is actually very hard to find a particular photo and also delete it from Proton Drive, because the functionallity is bare bones at best.

I agree it should be a toggle.

Currently, the (Android) Proton Drive App only supports automatic photo back up (i.e. no sync for deleted photos). An additional option for photo sync or toggle between automatic back-up and automatic sync would be very useful for the two distinct use cases.
The Proton Drive application on Windows already allows sync for selected folders.
Also, the promotional text on the proton.me website "Back up files automatically" and "Your photos and videos automatically sync to your secure drive at regular intervals" is very misleading by mixing back up and sync at some points.

I disagree. Proton, if you add this, please allow it to be a toggle as I have backed up photos from my iPhone to Proton Drive and then deleted them on my iPhone as I do not have much storage. I would still want these photos to remain in Proton Drive.

A feature that allows it after the photos & videos are uploaded to Proton Drive that they will be deleted in my local device store (mobile phone).

I am writing to suggest an enhancement to the recently added photo synchronization feature on the Proton Drive iOS app. While the current feature allowing photo sync from the iOS Photos app is a significant addition, I believe it could be further improved to enhance user experience and functionality.
Currently, if a photo is deleted from the iOS Photos app, it is not automatically removed from Proton Drive. This can lead to inconsistencies between the two libraries and requires manual management to ensure both are in sync.
I would like to propose that Proton Drive implement an automatic deletion feature that mirrors the iOS Photos app. Specifically, when a photo is deleted from the iOS Photos app, it should also be automatically deleted from Proton Drive. This synchronization would greatly improve the seamless integration between the two platforms and provide a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe it would be a valuable addition to an already excellent service.
Best regards,

As soon as they add this feature, I’m going to start using photo backup.

Agreed. Really frustrating that there is no two-way sync.

We would need a cleanup feature to go along with this - I would use the google photos cleanup to delete my local content and keep it cloud only.

This is a necessary feature.

Yes, or at least an option to turn this on and off. It's irritating when a bunch of photos are taken, then later culled on the phone, but it was too late on the drive, which was already synced.
