When TOC is implemented, I can start using Proton Docs. Hope we will get it soon.

A floating table of contents would be a very useful addition to Proton Docs, especially for longer documents with many headings. Being able to click headers, jump to sections, and choose how many heading levels are shown would make navigation feel much closer to tools like Google Docs. More information here: https://moja.bet/

Stop adding new things until you get the basics right please. Having a document app without a table of contents is like notepad, it's not even as good as wordpad.

Using headings in order to use a left side table of contents is absolutely critical to how I use documents. I've been putting off moving my google docs to proton docs due to the lack of this feature

This is essential for any word doc program. Without it, I would seriously consider canceling my Proton Unlimited subscription. Being able to view and navigate through headings in a visible table of contents is vital for long word docs, which is primarily what I use.

True, I like really enjoy the experience of the minimal ui. But it doesn't make sense now to work in it without a doc outliner.

Writing another book and need a TOC feature.

I got rid of Adobe, thanks to Davinci Resolve and now with Affinity I no longer need premiere, photoshop, nor illustrator. Thank god! Now I need alternatives to indesign and google docs, would love to get rid of those, especially google as I don't' want them spying on and censoring my books.

Ghetto TOC (GTOC): use text comments and navigate the document via the Comments panel.
Access the Comments panel via the word balloon button in the upper right of the screen. 💬

I start at the bottom of the document so that the comments are in the correct order for the GTOC (comments are listed by creation timestamp, latest to earliest).
I also only comment on H1, H2, and H3 headings and name the comments for themselves, e.g., the H2 "Miscellaneous" section's comment at the bottom of the document is simply named Miscellaneous.
I only create this GTOC after the document requires significant scrolling because it doesn't auto update and later comments can get out of document order. Like I said, it's ghetto and YMMV.

This is a workaround for a critically missing feature in Proton Docs. I hope this helps make someone's day a little brighter. 🌞
