Table of Contents :: Proton Docs
Thanks for making Proton Docs!
Will you please add a button to toggle a floating table of contents to the left side of a document that is being viewed or edited?
Ideally, the TOC would show the headers of the document that would scroll to that part of the document when clicked. This would be similar to the feature in Google Docs. Additionally, a config option for it to set how many headers deep it would show would also be helpful.
Thanks again!

I would like proton documents to be able to have title and headers that can be navigated via a table of content. This is a very important capability! 🙏👍

Very much need this for my co-op business to transfer over from google docs. We have so much complex documentation where you have to have a readily accessible table of contents to jump to different sections.

Proton Docs is useless to me without this feature.

Hello there,
Looking for a safe google docs alternative.
I can't make the switch until I have a table of contents, like the document tabs in google docs.
Thanks for hearing us out !

At least a clickable TOC (optionally maybe) inserted at beginning of document.

Adding this feature would streamline my navigation through large pages, making the experience far more efficient and intuitive. Please, add this.

Shocked that Docs doesn't already have this. Just signed up and unfortunately, without this, it's unusable for my purposes.

Yes, some way to navigate easily using headings. Please. I write novels, and go back-and-forth between chapters a lot for edits. This would save so much time.

Docs is practically unusable without this.

Just make similar usage as google docs and I will be happy. side panel and a nice list view of all the headers with options to turn certain headers off so they are not listed.

I want this outline of doc too, the heading font size alone is not enough to read easily

Its been a while since this was opened, I hope it'll be done somewhat soon as it is actually the only reason I did not make a change from google docs to proton docs rn :(

Or maybe an "overview" tab with graphs ?

Going through a document of more than a couple of pages is very difficult without a Navigator/Outliner/Table of Contents panel, like the one in Google Docs. It becomes basically impossible if the document reaches a 50 page length, which most serious documents will. It's not clear to me why this feature only has 60 votes considering how crucial it would be for essential doc navigation. Tabs (recently added to Google Docs) are also extremely useful for keeping navigation fast and clean. But a basic ToC navigator would be a good start. Please add it as soon as you can.
I will add my voice to the others that switching away from Google Docs is not possible until this basic feature is added. Thank you!

i absolutely miss the TOC in almost every editor.
jumping to headers is sooo convienent for longer text files.idk if this would be a good idea to tweak it a little so you can add comments to the headers that do display when hovering over 'em by adding something like '// comment' under headers.
anyways, TOC is a must.
