Proton Docs - dark mode / dark theme, please
I'm asking if it would be possible to have a dark mode or some sort of dark theme for Proton Docs, please.

This. Please. It is blinding looking at the screen. I can't use this at all in current state.

Dark Mode for existing 'office'-like apps (Docs / Sheeds) and Dark Mode as standard for any new apps that Proton intends to add.
I don't think the point needs to be laboured about how important Dark Mode is for reducing eye-strain, but, so far it seems none of the office-like applications Proton offers have this functionality. Please, as a matter of urgency, consider adding a Dark Mode or themes or something that can be used to reduce eyestrain when using these applications. It seems to be something that is widely requested and yet I've not seen any official statement from Proton on whether they will implement this and when they might do it.

This is absolutely a critical feature to implement, please Proton. Dark Mode for documents / sheets is absolutely vital in this day and age.

PLEASE, this would be end game of note taking apps for me if it had dark mode.

This would be super useful. Also, it's a feature Google Docs doesn't yet have natively, which might give Proton Drive a further edge over Google.

I just tested Proton Doc again after a year and got flash banged as everything on my PC is in dark mode and a pure bright white side is opening. I know that even Google Docs don't has a dark mode (there are extensions though), but at least you can change the paper color.
Sure a dark mode in a writing app is a bit tricky, because you need to separate the UI from the paper/write section , as it is not for everyone to write white on black (I prefer black on a slightly grey). But you can make the Font and Paper background color configurable and use the dark mode for the surrounding UI as it is in the Proton Email client.
I can't use flash bang 100% bright apps anymore, as my eyes will hurt after a while, it just seems from a different era. -

The introduction of sheets is awesome but I really think this should be prioritized. It's such a small effort that would make a massive difference to the platform. Would be nice if the way mail themes work could be extended to cover docs too.

Your drive is very handy and the font is great and really comfortable to read, but the light is giving me headaches. I need a dark mode asap! -

GG, this idea is only a year old. I guess it will need at least 3 more years before they even consider adding a black mode for Proton Docs, since the Email's Dark Mode suggestion has already been here for 4 years, LUL

This would set this apart so much and I would immediately use it over Bear.

I completely agree. All the other apps have a dark mode, but this one doesn’t. Having a dark mode is essential, it really needs to be added.

I love the text editing options but can't use it for extended due to photosensitivity. Please add a dark mode!

Agree as well. Not sure why it has been left out? Drive, calendar, mail etc all have dark mode, why not docs?

Totally agree with this. Dark mode makes such a difference for long reading or editing sessions specially at night. It would be great to see Proton Docs include a dark theme option like other Proton apps already have. Looking forward to it

As a writer, PLEASE, let me use this in dark mode natively. I can already use Proton Drive with different themes, let it extend to the docs, I am begging you.
