Proposal to Add Version Control System (VCS) Support to Proton Drive
Dear Proton Drive Development Team,
I hope this message finds you in good time. First of all, I'd like to thank Proton Drive for the excellent services it offers. Your commitment to security, privacy, and ease of use, in particular, makes your platform indispensable for many users.
However, I have a suggestion for a feature that could be added to Proton Drive for software developers: Version Control System (VCS) Support.
Why Would VCS Support Be an Opportunity for Proton Drive?
Version control has become a fundamental tool in the software development process. It allows teams to efficiently manage their projects, track changes, and collaborate. Platforms like Git, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket are widely used in the software development world, but the strong security features and user-friendly architecture offered by Proton Drive create a significant opportunity to offer a unique solution in this area.
Proton Drive provides a secure and scalable work environment by providing a centralized version control system for software developers, while ensuring efficient file sharing with high security and privacy standards.
Key Features Offered with VCS Integration
Adding VCS support to Proton Drive can offer the following powerful features:
Version History: By storing each version of files, it will be possible to track past changes and revert to older versions if necessary.
Branching & Merging: Enables teams to work in parallel and ensures seamless integration of changes into the main project.
Upload and Push Operations: Users upload their changes to a central repository and track change history, ensuring a streamlined workflow.
Team Collaboration and Security: Integrating with Proton Drive's existing security features, you can manage team file access permissions and ensure sensitive data is shared only with authorized individuals.
Tagging and Release Notes: Tags, comments, and release notes can be added to specific versions, simplifying project development tracking and version transitions.
Benefits of VCS Support
Adding VCS support to Proton Drive offers the following benefits:
Secure and Centralized Storage for Developers: Proton Drive allows software developers to store their projects in a secure environment, further strengthening the platform's already robust security infrastructure.
Efficient Collaboration: It makes it easier for teams to work securely on the same projects, enabling efficient collaboration on large and complex projects.
Competitive Advantage: Proton Drive offers not only file storage but also version control support, making it a comprehensive collaboration tool for software development teams.

Yes, you're right, but I meant Proton Drive should also have a Git architecture. So, when I said VCS, I was referring to a Git-like architecture. You're right, but sometimes you have to think things through. Have a good day :)

Unfortunately, this already exists as File Version History. Please comment if I’m wrong and VCS is something greater.
