What happened to the request with 6000 + votes? This lack of transparency is not doing you good Proton!

Hope you can release it soon. I would like to retire my Nextcloud instance and this is the only roadblock.

I recently moved from Windows to Linux and I am frustrated there is still no Proton Drive client for Linux after many years. Hopefully soon this will finally be available to the Linux community. With more users moving from Windows to Linux I think getting Proton Drive for Linux should be given more priority.

Dear Proton team. I joined Proton over a year ago with a payed Duo account. My wife is on a Mac where a sync app exists but despite all the announcements over the past year there is still nothing for Linux. There wasn't even the mention of it in the last Proton updates couple of days ago. It's quite disappointing and not very "cool" as someone stated earlier for a company that promotes privacy and opensource.... . Please give us an update where things stand as of today.

That the apps are only partially available for Linux feels like a misunderstanding of Protons customer base.. One of the main appeals for choosing Proton was the aspect of data security and independence from US tech companies. For that reason I also recently converted my laptop to Linux only to find out that I cannot sync my data in the Proton Drive anymore. It really makes me consider switching to a different provider. I really love Protons features but what is the point if they do not work for me?

I was surprised to find out that, not only is there no Linux client for Proton Drive, but there is an active discouragement by Proton to try and use other methods to incorporate Drive into the Linux ecosystem.

I am moving from non-private operating systems (MacOS and Windows 11), a non-private cloud storage solution (OneDrive) and a non-private e-mail account (Gmail) to their private equivalents (Linux, Proton Drive and Proton Mail)... and then I find that that there is no support from Proton to make this transition seamlessly.

There are third party attempts at solutions, such as rclone, but it appears that Proton is actively blocking or hindering their use. Maybe there are good reasons for this to which we are unaware, but then please provide a solution so that we can finally make the jump.

Proton prides itself on providing a platform for privacy, but the current platform is broken. We need a fix.

I'm very close to build a network of NAS across my relatives to skirt the absence of this app. I was genuinely excited about switching from windows and google to proton and seeing the inexisting support for proton drive on linux is super disheartening.

Proton Drive definitely needs a Linux App. I switched to Proton-mail and the Proton Suite away from Microsoft 365 and Windows as a whole, and for a privacy-focused app, it is a shame that I can't use a privacy focused OS like Linux with Proton Drive integrated. I would even take a properly-supported rclone instance, which right now is not community maintained and does not sync files properly. I just want to be able to access my Proton Drive files from Linux without going through the web app and dealing with how difficult that can be when syncing my Documents and Pictures.

It is ridiculous that we don't have a proton client for linux yet. I should be able to use the cloud backup I pay for on a system that is actually privacy focused when your company claims to focus on privacy

I was hoping to keep a local backup of my proton drive using rclone, but that has been depreciated. Do I have to find another solution?

They just buried the Linux Drive implementation request with almost 6.000 votes. Instead of acknowledging it and interacting with their user base. Such scummy behavior.

I am thinking about switching to another provider unless this happens soon. It's really hard to use proton drive without being able to mount it on Linux desktop.

Unbelievable for a company proclaiming "privacy by default" this has not yet been realised, even tough other/newer products have been launched!

Same here. If Linux is not supported this year, I will leave. It does not take that much resources to make this happen and Linux is now 5% of all pcs and growing. If Proton wants growth they should make this happen now or never.

And also it would be good to have a Proton Drive app for Linux

It's also critical to me. I'm looking forward to ditch google and windows and the last piece of software that I need on Linux is ProtonDrive.
