Team Folder
Hello Proton team,
I’d like to share a feature request regarding Proton Drive, specifically for use within families or small groups (Duo/Family plans).
Currently, when someone shares a folder with me, it only appears under “Shared with me.” This is inconvenient for family collaboration, because:
- Shared folders do not appear under “My files,” so they feel separate from my main file structure.
- On mobile, I cannot directly save new files into a shared folder. I first have to save files into my own storage and then manually import each file into the shared folder. This is time‑consuming and not user‑friendly.
Suggestion
For Proton Drive within Duo/Family plans (or groups in general), it would be very helpful to have an option for shared folders to behave like “team folders,” for example:
Allow a shared folder to be mounted/visible directly under “My files” (optionally instead of, or in addition to, “Shared with me”).
Let users save or upload files directly into these shared folders on all platforms (including mobile), without having to store them first in their personal space and then import them.
Optionally, introduce a dedicated concept like “Team Folders” (similar to Dropbox), which are shared among all members of a family or group and appear in their main folder structure.
This would be extremely useful for families who want to manage their household digitally and paperless as far as possible: for example, storing shared documents like bills, insurance documents, school papers, etc., in a single common space, without sharing accounts.
Thank you for considering this improvement and for your work on privacy‑focused tools.

100% for this feature. I have actually subscribed for the company licence and I was astonished it doesn't work like this
A Coworker creates a folder: I find it in the "Shared With Me" and not in My Files
If I create & share a master folder where my associates have all rights, they cannot do basic actions like share something under this folder with outsider of the companies, only the owner of the folder can do it >< -

I fully support this feature request. Coming from an iCloud account, this is one of the biggest drawbacks as it makes it cumbersome to work/collaborate in shared folders.
