I am using the Proton App for Linux Mint, but now it tells me to download a new version. “A important update is available. To continue using the app, please update it to the latest version.”
On the website versions for Windows and Mac, Android and iOS are available. When will the updated Linux version be available? And will it have a drive sync option?

We need Proton Drive for Linux and better Proton applications for Linux OS !

I totally agree, I went on Proton with all members of my family to escape GAFAM like most people here I guess. Linux is generating increasing interest from many government agencies, companies, and citizens in Europe. Why isn't there a Proton Drive application for Linux that's at least on par with Proton VPN or Bridge?

Linux support is really needed - I still have to use dropbox. I cant understand why this is still not a Linux App

I support the request for Linux, but it likely makes sense to ask for an AppImage so that they're not targeting specific distros.

Migrating off of windows. Icedrive has a competent AppImage, Dropbox has a janky featureless shell of its windows offering, and Proton just has nothing.

Drive is my second priority of all of Proton's offerings, behind email itself. Here's hoping windows 11 drives enough users away that Linux can get more attention in the future.

I'll use it in the webbrowser for now. I know that one day it will be there...I'll hope within a year. but I nevertheless will stay.

This issue is prompting me to set up a home server with NextCloud and will be leaving Proton ecosystem when that's ready.

Proton Drive need full and complete functionality with sync in linux. Right now it is only a file dump for linux users. Needs to work like filen.

How can a company allegedly committed to privacy not have an installation for Linux? Makes absolutely zero sense. Put your money where your priorities are!

Agreed with others, I'm in the process of moving my cloud storage and naturally went to use Proton Drive when I realised that it's not compatible with Linux for automatic backups, and I don't fancy manually uploading everything. I actually found the incompatibility very surprising given Protons values, I would imagine that Protons userbase has a higher percentage of Linux users than say Google Drive, so I almost assumed it was a given that it would be supported. As others have also said, the move towards using European services is on the rise and cloud storage is (in my mind) a bare essential service when compared to things like AI, crypto wallets, cloud office products, etc. Please keep the focus on your big three - email, VPN, and cloud storage. Everything else is just bells and whistles. I'd be really glad to see compatibility added but for now I'll have to spend money elsewhere.

I agree with other comments that we Linux users need better support from Proton. I have recommended multiple people to switch to Proton. Hoping I can continue to do so since I also recommend switching to Linux.
