Drive Linux
Please please release a linux sync client. I am a paying user and this entire feature is almost completely unusable for me. Please remind yourself where you come from and release also features for the community that supports you from the early proton times!

Proton Drive need full and complete functionality with sync in linux. Right now it is only a file dump for linux users. Needs to work like filen.

Gerade ein Unternehmen, dem Datenschutz wichtig ist, müsste die Möglichkeit bieten, auch Kunden, welche nicht das Betriebssystem eines US-Tech-Giganten nutzen wollen, ihre Rechner zu synchronisieren.

How can a company allegedly committed to privacy not have an installation for Linux? Makes absolutely zero sense. Put your money where your priorities are!

Agreed with others, I'm in the process of moving my cloud storage and naturally went to use Proton Drive when I realised that it's not compatible with Linux for automatic backups, and I don't fancy manually uploading everything. I actually found the incompatibility very surprising given Protons values, I would imagine that Protons userbase has a higher percentage of Linux users than say Google Drive, so I almost assumed it was a given that it would be supported. As others have also said, the move towards using European services is on the rise and cloud storage is (in my mind) a bare essential service when compared to things like AI, crypto wallets, cloud office products, etc. Please keep the focus on your big three - email, VPN, and cloud storage. Everything else is just bells and whistles. I'd be really glad to see compatibility added but for now I'll have to spend money elsewhere.

want to use my keepass database synced with proton drive. Please give us proton drive for linux!
Recent political developments and my focus on “buy European” make Linux support for Proton Drive important, even crucial.

I agree with other comments that we Linux users need better support from Proton. I have recommended multiple people to switch to Proton. Hoping I can continue to do so since I also recommend switching to Linux.

100% backing this idea. It's an inconvenience to upload to Drive through the web browser. As an Unlimited user this is critical to continue with Proton in the future.

Schade. Wann kann man mit einem Release rechnen?

Despite Proton stating that it "supports user privacy", there is still no native application for Proton Drive for Linux operating systems.
While there are native apps for the telemetry-friendly Windows and Mac, there is nothing for Linux, and the workarounds -- Rclone etc -- are consistently blocked by Proton.
Is it time to start investing in another privacy-friendly company?
Thanks! -

Agreed with all the comments here. I just signed up for Proton Ultimate and was stunned that even after all this time there was no support for a Drive app on Linux.

I'm on the "Proton Unlimited" plan. Linux support for Proton Drive is key for me too. :)
Recent political developments and focus on "buy European" many places make Proton Drive Linux support important.

Interestingly, even MEGA's free app works better than using half-baked solutions for Proton Drive through RClone and Celeste on Linux. Get it sorted! I'm gladly paying for Proton's other services, but the lack of a proper Drive application is really, really bad.

I'm trying to degoogle my life. Been a long time Linux user (25+ years). Want to move my last bit of stuff over from google workspaces and upgrade to Unlimited Plan but the lack of a working Linux client is making me think of moving completely off Proton after almost 8 years of using the service. Like others have said - stop all the development of these other add-ons and get a freaking Linux Drive client that actually works!!

Switched to linux and thinking about leaving Proton Drive because there is no linux client. Also the vpn client feels subpar compared to the windows and macos client...

an app dedicated to synchronizing files for linux desktops is really necessary, and would still be in line with the overall philosophy of the product by supporting an "open source" operating system wich is "privacy oriented" by design. Now this is the thing that poses the biggest obstacle for me to the completion of the degoogle process. Thanks.
