Improvement in Proton docs and version history
I love how Proton Docs automatically keeps a version history of every change we make to a document. It would be great to give users the option to set the time interval for creating new versions for example, after each edit, after 1 minute, after 2 minutes, and so on.
Currently, when I start a new document, each word I type generates a separate version. This quickly becomes overwhelming, making it hard to scroll back to a useful point in the history. While frequent versioning makes sense during focused editing such as correcting a document someone else sent or making deliberate revisions, it feels unnecessary…

Set External Drive as main location
My mac is the lowest spec but because of the speed of M processors it runs all my software for work better than any PC i've ever had. The cost of having a massive storage space inside my Mac is the reason I cannot use Proton Drive at the moment. I have 1TB external SSD which is my Dropbox location, if I could set Proton Drive to my external SSD as the main folder my life would instantly be better. I actually love how Proton Drive functions and am desperate to get out of the chaotic Dropbox ecosystem. Please explore…

Integration of folders and files shared with you.
It would be really great if we could move my owned files to folders that have been shared with me. I don't need to remove from shared folders but being able to add a doc I have created in my own files and folders to a folder someone else has shared with me.

Limit date range on photos backup
Currently the photos backup feature for proton drive appears to be "all or nothing", uploading all photos on a device at once. It would be very convenient to be able to set a date range for backup (or really, set any parameters controlling which photos get backed up).

Proton Docs: use pt instead of px, or offer choice
I just tried Docs für the first time and the first thing that springs to my eye is the font size showing "px" as measurement. Being curious about this I downloaded a test doc as .docs and opened it in Word, which showed the correct size in points (e.g. 16px -> 12pt).
While I am happy that the measurement unit is no mistake and is converted correctly, I still wonder why Proton chose to go with px instead of pt while still offering the same sizes as other text editors, just using px as unit.While the average user might…

Do not upload duplicate files
When I upload a file that already exists with the same name in the same folder, it is uploaded with a sequential number added. It would be better to do as other competitors do, i.e. warn that the file already exists and ask whether to upload it as a duplicate or not.

Ability to select a table and change the font for all of the cells
You need to be able to select a table and change the font for all of the cells. I have had to change the font every single time. It is ridiculous that you cannot do this automatically.

Webinterface Uploading: Better handling of unfinished uploads / optimize overwrite option dialog window
Currently, when an upload fails, you probably just want to restart and continue the upload. Imagine you have 300 folders with 17.000 files inside to upload and at some point the upload fails. So you are left alone with a complete file structure but with unknown file completion status.
But if you just try to upload to the same folder structure again (overwrite), it recognizes that the folders are already there, but you only have the option to overwrite EVERYTHING, which can take a lot of time and is not what is needed in this situation. There is no option…6 votes -

Add compression to photos and files?
It would be great to add compression to photos and files inside the drive, similar to filen.io.
For the sake of making it profitable Proton can decide to allow such feature for the lowest subscription tier.

Add support for exFAT filesystem
Proton Drive appears to only support NTFS, APFS. Incredibly frustrating to learn that the drive I'd like to use for backups isn't compatible with the service I've paid for due to the filesystem not being supported; exFAT is a fairly common cross-platform filesystem for external drives and is super useful for those going between operating systems and devices.

Allow the ability to download multiple files without having them bundled inside of a .zip file from the web interface.
As it stands, on the web interface, if you select multiple files to download within a folder, they automatically get bundled into a large .zip file.
It would be nice to have an option to instead have the files queued up to be downloaded separately.
I'm aware you can individually click download on each file, but I'd like to be able to use the checkbox to select all files in a folder and queue them up as separate downloads.

Auto‑create albums in Proton Drive Android backup
When the Android Gallery backs up photos to Proton Drive, the app currently uploads all images into a flat folder structure. It would be very helpful to have an option that automatically creates albums in Proton Drive that mirror the albums (folders) already defined in the device’s Gallery.
• Detect each existing Gallery album at backup time.
• Create a matching album (folder) in Proton Drive.
• Place the corresponding photos inside that album, preserving the original organization.This would make it easier for users to locate and share grouped photos without having to manually recreate the album hierarchy after the backup.

Sheets should display the Sheets logo as the webpage favicon
https://sheets.proton.me redirects to https://docs.proton.me/recents?type=spreadsheet. That page displays the Docs logo as the webpage favicon instead of the Sheets logo. The Sheets logo should be used instead so it's clear what webpage/webapp is displayed. If I bookmark this page or add it to my homescreen or desktop, it appears to be Proton Docs instead of Proton Sheets.

File history should show previous file names after renaming
When I open file history, I can’t see previous file names.
For example: yesterday a file was named “Document X”. Today I accidentally renamed it to “Document Y”. In file history, this rename is not reflected at all — I only see the current name.
This is a serious problem. I accidentally mixed up documents, edited one, then renamed it. Now I can’t tell which part of a case this file originally belonged to, because the old name is completely lost in history.
Please include previous file names in file history. Rename events are just as important as content…

Improved Trash UX (Photo Previews & Bulk Selection)
Photo previews in trash: The deleted photos in trash appear like a file directory with a very small thumbnail that loads very slowly. And i can't preview them on web. I would like to see the trash folder look exactly like a media gallery and display large clear thumbnails of every photo or video that's deleted and that can be opened.
(Google photos has these features)
Multiple selection: On the mobile app you have to delete each item individually from the trash to erase it permanently which makes deleting multiple photos very time consuming. Bulk selection of photos in trash…

Proton Docs: Integrate Lumo + Increase Docs file size!
It would be nice to ask Lumo while working inside Docs to run spellchecks or change the tone of your text etc.
i was working on a document that has alot of images, and suddenly i get an error that the file was getting too large and i couldnt edit anymore.
It seems that Proton Docs has a limit per document of 25mb, seems a bit low compared to competitors? Now i have to split this thing up in multiple parts.
I dont understand why there would be a size limit when Word is practically unlimited, especially for paying users.
