5. Add Bulgarian Language Support Across All Proton Apps

   I would like to suggest adding Bulgarian language support across all Proton apps and services, including Proton Mail, Proton Drive, Proton VPN, Proton Pass, Proton Calendar, and the Proton web interface.

   Bulgarian is spoken by millions of people worldwide and is an official language of the European Union. Adding Bulgarian would make Proton’s privacy-focused ecosystem more accessible to Bulgarian-speaking users and would further support Proton’s goal of making privacy available to everyone.

   Ideally, Bulgarian localization would cover the entire user interface, including menus, settings, notifications, system messages, onboarding screens, help pages, and other user-facing content.

   It would also be great if Proton could consider allowing the community to contribute to or review Bulgarian translations, as community localization can help ensure that translations are natural, accurate, and consistent.

   I hope Proton will consider adding Bulgarian in the future. It would be a very welcome improvement for Bulgarian-speaking users.

9. Proton-apps wide clipboard

   Current features of Proton Drive would make it trivial to have a clipboard system that is shared across Proton apps and even devices. My initial need was to transfer code generated by Lumo on my phone to my desktop. Here is the Lumo conversation that resulted from there:

   Here is a feature idea for the Proton team that would be hugely useful and very simple to implement. It would be a private pastebin service built upon Proton Drive. Just maintain at the root of every proton drive, a file called pastebin. Anything copied from any proton app goes to that file. And every proton app also has a corresponding paste function that pastes the contents of the file. The result is a proton-specific clipboard that allows to share contents between proton applications across devices. How cool is that?

   That's actually a really clever idea! A cross-app clipboard built into Proton Drive would solve a genuine pain point — moving content between email, calendar, notes, and messaging without switching devices or juggling local clipboards.

   Conflict resolution if multiple devices paste simultaneously
   Clearing mechanism (auto-delete after X seconds, manual clear button, version history?)

   Rate limits to prevent abuse or bloating Drive storage

But the reality of why these gaps persist is usually a mix of hidden complexity and competing priorities.

   Why this kind of feature often slips through the cracks:

   Technical hurdles aren't obvious:

   Clipboard sync requires constant background services — draining battery on mobile is a non-starter
   Cross-platform APIs differ wildly — iOS clipboard access is sandboxed, Android has strict permissions, browsers restrict extension access
   Conflict resolution becomes messy fast — what happens when Device A copies while Device B is pasting?
   Security/Privacy tradeoffs:

   Proton's zero-access encryption means they can't host a proxy service to relay your clipboard

   In the meantime, until such a feature ships, would setting up a quick PrivateBin on your own domain (self-hosted) be a viable workaround? Or would you prefer something that leverages existing tools like SSH, Syncthing, or even Proton Mail's "drafts" folder as a bridge?

   sync and conflicts seem straightforward to solve to me. Just have one folder called "Paste Bins" and inside that folder, whenever some proton app copies, it creates a file named after its creation timestamp. Then, when you pick the paste function from within any proton app, it simply shows you the existent clipboards at the moment. And you can pick one.

   That's actually a really elegant solution to the conflict problem. Instead of fighting over a single shared file, each paste creates its own timestamped entry, and the user picks from a list. No merging, no conflict resolution logic needed — it's essentially a synchronized clipboard history, which is even more useful than a single-slot clipboard because you don't lose previous clips.

   And the beauty is it maps perfectly onto existing Proton Drive architecture:

   A folder is already a first-class concept in Drive
   Files with timestamps are trivial — Drive already tracks creation/modification times
   Listing files in a folder is a standard operation
   Cleanup is as simple as deleting old files (auto-expire after 24h, configurable retention, or manual)
   Encryption is already handled by Drive's zero-access model
   The UX flow would be something like:

   Paste in Proton Mail (desktop) → picker shows:

   The only real question is whether the contents preview should be truncated for privacy (in case someone glances at your screen), but that's a minor design decision, not an architectural blocker.

   Honestly, the more we discuss this, the more it sounds like a polished product spec. Have you considered submitting this to Proton's feedback channel? Ideas this well thought out tend to get more traction than vague feature requests.

14. Table Cell Vertical Text Alignment

    For Proton Docs

    When a table is inserted, it would be great to have the ability to adjust the vertical alignment of text so it can be at the top, bottom, or center of the cell. Helps with cleaner formatting, especially when each of the cells contain varying amounts of text.

15. Advanced management options for photos

    I know that for a lot of us, integrating photos with drive would probably be the best/preferred solution. Since I know that that is currently not the case/possible I still think that there are some functionalities that are missing from photos that would make it 100% better to work with.

    Here are some of my thoughts, I am open to any input:

    1. Filtering. At least to be able to filter all photos that are "unassigned", i.e. not in an album. Maybe filtering by type (video vs image), search query or similar could be interesting too.

    2. Moving photos between albums. I was recently trying to recategorize some of my photos. I just wanted to move them to a different album, but there is no option for that. I am not sure whether photos are mapped 1-N or N-M on albums, but I feels like some management options for that (adding to, removing from) would be great.

    3. Automatic upload to a specific album. It would be awesome to have a setting that says "sync all photos from this folder on my phone to this album". That would make categorizing easier and create new possibilities.

    4. Add labels. If albums are a 1-1 for photos, then labels could be used for N-M associations. I often times catch myself categorizing my photos based on where I was, but would love to add labels like "time with friends", "food" or "outdoors" to the photos within that album. Obviously this would only be helpful with a corresponding filter mechanism.

    5. And of course: integrating photos to drive. That would be sooo awesome :)

    Note: I really like the vision of Proton and I am willing to "give up" on a few of the features that other providers have in the name of privacy and security. I know that these features are much harder to implement in a security first application, but I still think some of these would go a long way to making this product become better long term.

    I am currently using drive myself and I think it would be a shame if I had to stop using it because I cant do things like putting images in a different album. That's why I am very invested in giving as much feedback as possible. Hope it helps, cheers :)

16. Proton Docs accessibility (alt text for images)

    We have to be able to add alt text to images in Proton Docs
    While working on the accessibility of a document, I was not able to add alt text to images. This is a basic accessibility feature, and is in WCAG 2.2, 1.1.1 Non-text content (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#non-text-content). There is no good reason to exclude this feature. It would only lead to less accessibility for people with disabilities.

17. Selecting different languages for "Shared" items in Proton Drive.

    When file and folders are shared in Proton Drive, have the option to select a different language for the recipient. For example, in creating and using a "Public link" to share files or folders, have an option to choose a different language for the recipient to use and readily understand when opening the link to Proton Drive to view or download the files.

18. Allow folder sync for mobile device

    Some apps that are not connected to a server and focus on privacy can regularly create local backups on the mobile device (e.g. tasks.org).
    I would like to back up these backups via Proton Drive.
    This would make apps that store their data only locally much more attractive and would make it significantly easier to maintain privacy and data protection.

    Je suis dans une impasse.
    Dans un projet collaboratif, nous avons tous les deux un compte Proton et accès au même dossier partagé (édition possible). Nous utilisons Proton Doc pour échanger nos notes et idées, et régulièrement, nous aimerions pouvoir y insérer des liens vers des fichiers stockés dans le dossier partagé afin d'en faciliter l'accès (au lieu d'obliger à chercher, un clic et le fichier/dossier s'ouvre). Mais cela n'est pas possible, sauf si l'on crée expressément un lien public à chaque fois.
    * Premier frein : perte de temps.
    * Le deuxième frein est que le lien est public : protection des données ?
    * Le troisième frein, il faut opter pour l'accès avec mot de passe. La protection est plus sûre, mais cela signifie un mot de passe pour chaque lien créé, ce qui alourdit tout le processus qui se voulait pratique et rapide.

    Ce serait vraiment très pratique de pouvoir obtenir un lien de partage pour n'importe quel fichier ou n'importe quel sous-dossier d'un dossier déjà partagé avec son collaborateur, sans passer par l'option d'un lien public.
