Lumo dark mode
I (and I’m sure many others) would highly appreciate a dark mode. Obviously proton has always had the option for other apps, so my assumption is that one is on the way, but if it’s not, here’s an official request to add to the task list.
We have Dark Mode now :)

Thank you!
We still need an update to the Android app because the titlebar and statusbar are still white in dark mode.

Done in the Lumo 1.2 update.

@Privacy101 It does not follow my system dark mode settings on android.
I could forgive its growing pains as an llm if it would just stop burning my retinas in the meantime!

Hello: This is a reply to “A” which is two threads downward.
Android has dark mode capabilities natively.
On iOS, go to Settings > Accessibility > Per-App Settings > Add App > Lumo > Smart Invert.
On web, install an extension like Dark Reader. -

The proton team says this is coming very soon (in less than a month)

This should be default for every single app. I can't understand how nowadays there is a webapp or mobile app without dark mode implementation.

This is a huge proton ecosystem problem. Why does the email have such a nice clean dark aesthetic, and Lumo was designed to outshine a white sheet of paper with the sun shining on it on a clear summer day. This app is a veritable flash bang. I love proton, but please give us dark mode.

This is a problem across all of the proton apps and needs to be addressed globally

May I suggest a Proton Purple background, turning Lumo white ?

I was going to send an email to the support team to give feedback. I also asked Lumo how I can provide feedback. It told me to send an email to "feedback@proton.me" but such an email doesn’t exist. So I came here instead.
The fact that there’s no dark mode, and that they didn’t even think of it or just skipped it, is really funny. It’s like there aren’t any developers working there. 80% of them must have become nearsighted from being exposed to blue light on the screen. Please make a dark theme. It’s too white, my eyes are bleeding.

I also had a conversation about this with Lumo and it assured me the option exists. Spoiler, it does not.

The mild irony is that I asked Lumo about this and it led me down a path of options that don't even exist in the iOS app to enable a dark mode, and also claimed it may be caused by system-wide dark/light mode settings, which is set to always dark mode. Poor Lumo must be on some really good catnip.

This must be implemented!
