  1. Lumo iOS UI Improvements

    iOS problems:
In portrait orientation, tables rendered by Lumo extend beyond the right edge of the screen, requiring horizontal scrolling.
When rotating to landscape, the entire table becomes visible, but the persistent search bar at the bottom overlaps the content, obscuring roughly half of the text. This makes reading difficult, as only a narrow strip at the top remains unobstructed.

    Suggested solutions:
Responsive Table Layout – Automatically scale or wrap table columns so that the full table fits within the viewport in portrait mode, eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling.
    Search‑Bar Visibility Toggle – Add an option (e.g., a small…

  3. Improved visibility of the Internet search icon in Lumo

I find the current icon for the integrated Internet search in Lumo difficult to distinguish, especially with dark themes or low screen brightness. I suggest introducing a clearer, higher-contrast icon that automatically adapts to the selected theme (light/dark).

    Possible implementation:
A minimalist magnifying glass icon with a subtle frame that is highlighted in color when search is activated.

Optional: A short tooltip display (“Start/stop search”) when pressed and held to support new users.

A clear icon makes it easier to find and activate the search function, which increases the overall usability of Lumo.

  4. File types and size / unsupported file types

The current file types to upload f.e. images don’t work well and constantly I’ll get the message of “unsupported file type” in the pop-up window and that’s a false flag. They are all files types that Lumo support. I can open those files without any problems within Proton Drive or iCloud. Same issue occurs on Windows desktop, iPhone and iPad. Drag and drop makes no difference.

The file size is also an issue, limited to 10MB and I have a subscription. An average photo is already more than that. Files stored in Proton Drive can be uploaded with a maximum…

  5. Have a monthly calendar view that displays a month ahead of the current day

In the current month view, when you are nearing the end of the month, the vast majority of the screen is taken up by past events and therefore often not very useful. Have an additional view that shows the month ahead from the current date.

  6. Feature Request: Exclusive Access to Larger LLMs for Lumo Plus Subscribers

I would like to propose a feature specifically for paying Lumo Plus subscribers: the ability to enable Lumo to use larger LLMs (such as GPT-5, GPT-5 Thinking, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 4, Claude Sonnet 4.5, etc.) for processing queries. The core idea is for Lumo to act as a privacy barrier—protecting user data—while still taking advantage of the advanced capabilities of top-tier models for those who subscribe.
This enhanced feature should be strictly limited to users who actively pay for Lumo Plus. Free users would continue using the current models and would not have access to this option.
    Lumo Plus…

  7. Lumo - Lessed censored on the cybersecurity themes and subjects

I'm using Lumo while working in cybersecurity (blue/red team, sometimes in challenges and CTFs)

Right now, a lot of the time Lumo won’t answer questions that could be useful for us because the system assumes the info might be used maliciously. I get the intention behind that safeguard, but it ends up being a real pain when we’re trying to do legitimate security research, hardening, or authorized testing.

As the saying goes, “knowledge is power.” When that knowledge is unnecessarily censored, it slows down our ability to protect systems and to understand threats.

  8. Provide a way to keep accounts completely disconnected from AI

No AI, nor company that integrates it, truly cares about user privacy and security. Frankly it makes me reconsider my choice to move to Proton. It's certainly prevented me from moving to any paid tiers

  9. binary file type parsing

According to Lumo, uploaded binary files are only read as a first snippled, and this is no different in the Lumo+ version. Hence, an Excel table or a pdf cannot be parsed or only the first few lines, rendering the function useless. Pls, parse full files. Output of Lumo:

File‑type handling: I can read the first few lines of a text‑based file (CSV, plain‑text, JSON) that you upload, but I cannot open binary formats (PDF, DOCX, XLSX) or run arbitrary parsing libraries. Your annual‑report PDFs and the Excel workbook itself are binary; I can see the file name and a…

  10. Removing Lumo from my Proton experience

Before you call me a Luddite, let me be clear: The original definition of a Luddite is one who did not want technology foisted upon them without consent. The AI craze has made me a loud-and-proud Luddite. Go elsewhere if you want to talk about how it's the "future" and "inevitable" in its current state.

My personal views on the viability of "ethical" GenAI aside, aside, I simply don't want to see a Lumo option in my tabs of much more useful Proton apps, like Drive, Calendar, Wallet and VPN.

Keep the cutesy purple cat out of my tabs, please,…

  11. "Terse" mode or "conversational" mode

I often don't need 3-page instructions and checklists on the topic I've asked a question about. For example, it recently gave me instructions on how to set up an email. It can be a bit overwhelming and difficult to go back to important information in the conversation.

  12. delete button (outside of settings)

Can you please move the delete button out of the settings and into the sidebar, or somewhere? I know lots of people keep AI chats, I don't. It seems like extra steps to hide it in settings.

  14. First reply is occasionally given with no words

I find on a fairly frequent reoccurrance that when I ask Lumo a question, it simply spits sources back at me with no words to explain the answer. I have to follow up with a "Please expand" reply in order for it to finally give me an answer. It's not the worst thing, but a little annoying

  15. Allow pasting underscores

I want to paste a regex .*_([^_]+_[^_]+)$ into chat. As soon as I paste, the underscores are removed and my text is converted to italic. I am unable to create a fenced code block with triple backticks. If I create a code block with single backticks and then paste my regex inside, it breaks the code block in half and inserts non-code text.

    • If the chat box is going to magically remove characters, CTRL+Z should put them back
    • I should be able to create a code block, and paste text inside that code block without any magic

  18. Great Potential the ability to use both Scribe & Lumo together, dream come true!

I started with this in Scribe then copy & paste to Lumo Web Search & got the results further from Lumo.

I’m happy to dive into the world of AI‑powered license‑plate readers (LPRs) and give you a clear picture of what’s possible, where the technology shines, and what you should keep in mind before using—or even just exploring—such tools.

    How modern AI‑based LPRs work
Image capture – A camera (often a dash cam, security cam, or a handheld device) records video or still frames of vehicles. Many systems use infrared illumination to see plates in low‑light or nighttime conditions.

  20. Make it easier to navigate. I have quite some open queries that I go back to and at least on firefox it is very hard to find the slider

The slider on the side is really hard to find when you have a long query. But I would like to go up and down to see earlier answers and it is really hard to do. Not even the middle button (roll) on the mouse works to go up and down.
