1. It would be interesting to be able to buy a single month of Lumo services, instead of a full year.

2. Make the highlight for today's date bigger

   If you view the calendar in month view, and put at least 4 events per day for the entire month, it can be very hard to easily find where today's date is.

   Currently it's just the number inside the date box that is boxed/highlighted and this gets lost when there are lots of events in a given month.

   Request: Simply just make it obvious. Or better yet, instead of boxing just the number, why not highlight the entire date box, and change its background colour to your primary colour instead? pls and thanks

4. Implementation of sorting options for Projects, Chats within Projects and additional sorting options for All Chats in Lumo (alphabetical as

   Thank you to the Lumo team for building and continuing to improve upon such an easy-to-use privacy-respecting assistant, and for Projects in particular, which have become central to how I organise ongoing work.

   I would love to see additional sorting options for the Projects list, the Chats within the Projects themselves, and All Chats that have not been assigned to Projects. If possible, these could include:
   
   - Alphabetical order (ascending and descending).
   - Manual reordering via drag and drop.
   - Retaining the current 'Last updated' and 'Date created' sorting defaults in All Chats for those who prefer them, and adding both options to Projects.

   At present, there does not appear to be a sorting control for Projects, or additional sorting options for Chats, which can make them harder to navigate for those of us with many active Projects and Chats. Additional sorting options would complement the existing search nicely, and would be a particular help to users who rely on structured naming conventions (for example numeric prefixes) for organisation across Proton apps.

   If the team is able to implement this, it would be wonderful to see it rolled out uniformly across every platform Lumo runs on. A feature like sorting behaving identically on all of them would be greatly appreciated.

5. Emphasize that user data is never used to train AI models

   From the Lumo "Getting started" webpage: "Information you enter is never used to train AI models." I think this should be emphasized more and expounded on, perhaps giving scenarios using both Lumo and other AI chatbots. (It looks like a no-brainer choice, to me, of which bot to use given that all the other ones (Maybe not DuckAssist?) exploit you and your data/thoughts.) While the privacy mantra of Proton is well-known and can be assumed, that's no reason to be subtle.

6. Custom Lumos usability (quick selection and/or prompt)

   In order to make the use of custom Lumos more efficient (I still catch myself prompting instructions every time instead of selecting the relevant custom Lumo) present custom Lumo icons in the tool bar of the prompt window so i can activate them with one click.
   Maybe allow to 'pin' certain custom lumos for folks that have too many ...
   Mentioned in other posts: a prompt that activates a specific custom lumo would be great too.

   This doesn't reveal trade secrets or compromise security—it just satisfies legitimate user expectations aligned with your transparency brand promise.

   SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS

   1. Publish a blog post listing base model names (Low effort, High trust impact)
   2. Add a model card to Lumo documentation (Low effort, High trust impact)
   3. Publish fine-tuning methodology overview (Medium effort, High trust impact)
   4. Include model lineage in security model docs (Medium effort, High trust impact)
   5. Release evaluation benchmarks for comparison (Medium effort, Very High trust impact)

   Even starting with just naming the base model families would address 80% of the transparency gap while preserving operational flexibility.

   ADDRESSING POTENTIAL CONCERNS

   Concern: Competitors will copy our fine-tuning
   Rebuttal: Naming base models doesn't reveal fine-tuning parameters or training data

   Concern: We'll lock ourselves into specific versions
   Rebuttal: You can disclose "Llama 3.2 family" or "Mistral Large class" without binding to exact versions

   Concern: Security through obscurity
   Rebuttal: Security-by-design is more trustworthy than security-by-secret. Auditable systems build trust.

   Concern: Marketing differentiation

   None of these justify zero disclosure about base models when transparency is a core marketing pillar.

   BOTTOM LINE REQUEST

   If Proton truly believes in transparency as a foundational value (not just a marketing tagline), please consider:

   1. Disclosing base model families used in Lumo
   2. Including licensing information for those base models
   3. Publishing a high-level architecture diagram showing how models integrate with encryption
   4. Adding transparency reports for model updates and incidents

   This would align Lumo's disclosure standards with:
   - Your own encryption/security documentation (which is excellent)
   - Peer privacy companies like Mullvad and Quad9
   - User expectations for a "transparent privacy-first AI"

10. Add a copy icon for users own prompts

    Add a copy icon for the users own prompts in the chat. Some of us like to copy and paste question and answers into Obsidian for example. It saves having to ask again in the future. We can copy the response but often if copying and pasting that some kind of context is needed sometimes hence being able to use/paste our questions/prompts into a note app etc.

12. Make all Project Knowledge files searchable and selectable with @ and selectable with @

    When using Lumo Projects with files linked from Proton Drive, all files can appear correctly under Project Knowledge, but only a subset of them is available when typing @ in the chat.

    This creates a usability problem: a file may clearly exist in Project Knowledge, yet it cannot be found or explicitly selected through the @ mention interface, even when typing part of its exact filename.

    Because Lumo also uses smart retrieval, it is currently difficult to understand whether:

    • the file has been fully indexed,
    • indexing is still in progress,
    • indexing has failed,
    • or the @ autocomplete simply shows a limited subset of files.

    It would be very helpful if Lumo could:

    • make every file in Project Knowledge searchable and selectable via @;
    • provide a proper filename search instead of only a limited autocomplete list;
    • show an indexing status per file, such as Indexed, Indexing, or Error;
    • optionally provide a Re-index action for a file or for the whole project;
    • clearly document whether the @ menu is intentionally limited and how its results are selected.

    At the moment, Project Knowledge and the @ file selector do not appear to expose the same set of files, which makes it hard to know whether Lumo can actually access a specific document.

    For users working with many project files, being able to explicitly reference any file by name is important for reliability and reproducibility.

    wäre es möglich die Farbfunktion von Kalenereinträgen kostenlos zur Verfügung zu stellen, bitte? Es hört sich etwas absurd an, wenn ich mit Leuten über Alternativen zu Google Produkten (u.a. Kalender) rede und ich dann erklären muss, dass man für das Einfärben von Kalendereinträgen 5€ im Monat zahlen muss. Im google Kalender geht das einfach und gratis. Es ist somit halt echt schwer mit dem begrenzten Funktionsumfang von Proton Kalender Leute zum Umsteigen zu bewegen...
    Deshalb meine Bitte: Stellt die Farb-Funktion von Kalendereinträgen bitte gratis zur Verfügung, vielen Dank.

    It would be great to edit the current and upcoming events only, without messing up past events. The overwriting all previous modifications to a recurring event makes it very inflexible to use.

15. Our Privacy due to Apertus and similar to be clarified

    WARNING: there is only 1 single suggestion: when an update, or system or otherwise is added, Lumo needs to be aware of.

    Everything else i write, is me explaining the context, why, and more. But please remember that all this is for the above suggestion.......... Because i asked lumo to do a summary and it added "suggestion" that i did not say (like usually, adding extras....) but they are on the point, and can, hopefully, help everyone understand the suggestion better.

    HERE IS COPY PASTE FROM LUMO:

    On 11 September 2026 I used the thumbs-down button to report an inadequate response from Lumo. This opened a dialog titled "Help us improve" with the following text:

    "When you submit feedback, your prompt and this response are sent to Proton for analysis and improvement. Feedback about Apertus may also be shared with the Apertus team."

    Problem 1: The feedback feature cannot be used safely. There is no option to control who receives the data. If the answer involved the Apertus model, the prompt and response may be forwarded to an external team that is not Proton (the Apertus developers). The dialog gives no way to decline that specific part, no way to know whether the answer was even generated by Apertus since model routing is not shown to the user, and no information about whether anything identifying is attached or stripped before forwarding. As a result, using the feedback feature carries an unquantified privacy risk, which defeats the purpose of a privacy-first assistant. The choice ends up being: report bad answers and accept uncontrolled sharing, or stay silent and give up the feedback feature entirely.

    Problem 2: The answer I tried to report was not useful in the first place. Lumo repeatedly failed to explain clearly what the feedback dialog means and how the data sharing works, despite this involving Lumo itself and its own privacy implications. Having to do multiple rounds of external web searching to get basic clarity on a privacy disclosure about Lumo is a failure. The combination of a poor answer, no transparency about which model produced it, and a feedback channel with an unconditional external sharing clause caused me to question the safety and privacy of the whole service.

    Requested changes:

    1. Show which model generated the answer being rated, or at minimum state whether the feedback for that specific answer would be shared externally.
    2. Add an option in the feedback dialog to exclude the prompt and response, or to send rating only, or to opt out of the external Apertus sharing specifically.
    3. Document in the Lumo privacy page exactly what is forwarded to the Apertus team and in what form, including whether any identifiers are attached or stripped.
    4. Improve Lumo's own ability to explain its own privacy features accurately.

    I once again, want to remind, my suggestion is just for Lumo, if we ask about itself, Proton producs, and more, to actually know. Something that i saw many times failing (like how Lumo did not know it's a cat. And How it did not understand how projects can be linked to folders in drive and so on and on).

    MY POINT: this is just another example of critical information that Lumo should know without us needing to search online, blogs, announcements, and more for anything, since it's about Lumo directly and about privacy.

16. "Get Lumo+" Confusing/Misleading on Proton Family Subscription

    I find the "Get Lumo+" button in Lumo very distracting/confusing. I already have Proton Family, which I understand already comes with Lumo Plus (I have confirmed Scribe acces in my Mail). But this button shows me a dialog that tries to upsell me what looks like 6 additional AI licenses?

    It doesn't really state that I already have Lumo Plus for my current 6 seat Proton Family plan.

17. Disable animated background when WebGL is disabled

    Currently the web app crashes when WebGL is disabled through NoScript (or in Tor Browser's "Safer" setting), but only when the animated background is enabled. Therefore the animated background should be disabled when Lumo finds that WebGL is disabled.

18. I love using Lumo. But have difficulty with the small gray scrollbar. Please make that in a contrast colour or much much bigger.

Recently I asked Lumo and he suggested settings. So by trying myself, I realized something and succeeded in making the background white. That helped a bit. But the bar is still very small. Can you please fix this.

    Suggesting an overhaul and alignment with the Proton family of product.

    The current choice has no cohesion with the established design language.
    Unless it is design for an audience of kids and adolescents specifically it feels
    playful, cute and disjointed.

    Surely kids and adolescents are not the primary market for the company's
    flagship AI product. Given the importance and relevance of AI a bit more
    thought could very well go into the branding here.

    As huge Proton fan and customer of many years I frequently wonder about
    the design choices. Form, function and aesthetic are frequently not at the level
    of the famed Swiss design standards one would expect.

20. Learning Feature on Lumo

    I would love to see Lumo receive a learning feature similar to ChatGPT or other AI tools. The idea would be that Lumo could help users study by generating learning materials such as quizzes, flashcards, or practice exercises automatically based on input. This would make Proton not only a privacy-focused productivity suite but also a helpful tool for education and personal development. Adding such a feature would make Lumo far more versatile and improve its value for students and lifelong learners.
