Proton Calendar on Mobile
Love that you guys created an encrypted Calendar - but what's the point of it if the only way to use it is to log in on the PM web version? There is no sync, no push notifications, and worst of all it's not available on mobile.
I think most of us use calendars on our mobile devices.
So PCalendar should either have a standalone app, or at the very least be integrated into the PMail app.
Better yet, is there any way to integrate/sync calendar data into a device's other third party calendar app?
For example, I've been using Fruux to keep my contacts and calendars in sync on multiple devices. I can add a calendar event in, say, Android's native calendar app, then it'll sync up with Fruux, and push that event on to ALL my other calendar apps (Fantastical on iOS, Thunderbird's calendar plugin, etc etc etc).
Thank you

Needs to function like Outlook calendar with ability to invite people, categorize and integrate with phone!

An encrypted calendar is great, but very clumsy to use on a smartphone. The ability to sync with an android calendar app would make Proton Calendar much more appealing.

I am an admin at a private school. I have my private calendar, my personal work-related calendar, our staff work calendar (unfortunately, Google), and our public calendar (also a Google calendar 😕 ). I need to be able to view all easily, preferably in a single application, whether I'm on my laptop or on my android phone. Being able to subscribe to proton's calendar via CalDAV/iCal (read/write) would be ideal, as I could quickly see all my events in a single calendar and avoid double-scheduling myself, etc. If this is possible without sacrificing privacy, please do so! Thanks.

Completely agreed! Until this happens the calendar is of little use.

Since we all seem to want an encrypted calendar, where can we volunteer some dev time to contribute to this project? What's the roadmap look like?
Haz dev skills, will code.

Are you planning to have a proton calendar app for iPhone?
Thanks

I'd go a little bit further on this. Along with a standalone app, it would be nice to have a widget related to. So that in one glance, we can see our plannings, and add some more...

A secure calendar is definitely a good idea, but the current version is not fit for business. I need CalDAV access to it in order to integrate the calendar in macOS and iOS Mail apps.

This is a great idea. My wife and I share a calendar so that we don't accidently double book a day and time. We use our mobile devices for this sychronization. It would be best if the calendar were available through the protonmail app on my phone.

When will a calendar app for iOS be available? I want to use your calendar but it isn't feasible unless there is an iOS app.

This is an important need before being able to really use Proton Calendar.

Please make an iOS Proton Calendar app. I need to be able to easily add events to it while on the go. I'm trying to stay away from apple and google apps but needing to sign into a mobile site + 2FA every time I need to add/change or check an event is incredibly cumbersome and adds a lot of friction to the user experience.

The Google Contacts App is the bed stone of a lot of access for mobile devices. It's featured prominently in almost everyone's first screen on their mobile device.
A dedicated Proton Contacts App POSSIBLY along with a dedicated Proton Dialer App is a key feature holding me back from full on endorsing Proton is the "Google Killer for my primary communications needs".
I had thought that this would be a forgone conclusion by now, but was quiet sad to see very few posts have even discussed this up until now.
IMHO, in order for Proton to be competitive and a viable alternative, it needs the following apps on Mobile Devices (in order of importance):
- Contacts App
- Mail Client (long since implemented)
- Calendar App
- Messaging AppI would very much like to see this become a high priority for the company. The infrastructure is already there from the web versions.

I'm trying to migrate myself out of the mess that is the Google Infrastructure.
Proton has been my go to for this up until now, but I feel like I'm waiting "too long" on things that help me move away.
Having a dedicated App or at least a shortcut app that goes to Proton's Calendar inside mail that I can have on my Android Desktop is certainly a big step I'm missing.
From my own experiences, I could design and implement an entire "working" Calendar myself for Android in about 1 week. This doesn't include all the added security integration or the any of the additional APIs or hooks that would be required to be competitive with Google Calendar.
The potential "ease" (term used very loosely) of getting this going just feels like its dragging down my ability to just give Proton the full thumbs up to everyone and say "Drop Google, drop it hard!".

I request a ProtonCalendar App for easy use on iPhone's and Android. Proton has already made MAIL and VPN apps successfully, so the Calendar app would be a great feature I would use multiple times everyday.

Yes! I LOVE and am heavily dependent on Fantastical and can't walk away from it. I would love to be able to put all my info in only ProtonCalendar and use with Fantastical.

Any update on this one? Would really round out the Proton mail/calendar lineup. Proton Drive and Proton Phone OS ideas sounds really awesome too. Thank you guys!

If I could get calendar to sync with third party apps on mobile (and desktop) this would be the most ideal
